Colorado Primary Election

Colorado is a vote by mail state. If you are registered by party, you receive only your party’s primary ballot. Independents get both, but can only return one.

I’m now registered as an Independent and received both ballots.

Any of the Republicans are OK with me. On the Democrat side, for the United States Senate, is former Governor WishyWashy, aka Hickenlooper, anointed by the Democratic National Committee and endorsed by Pelosi, Schumer, et al.

His opponent, Andrew Romanoff, is a (P)regressive gadfly who has failed several times to win a statewide contest. Since I loath WishyWashy, I filled out the Democrat ballot with Romanoff as my choice and mailed it in.

The Junior Senator, Cory Gardner (R) is up for re-election and is considered ‘vulnerable’ by the Democrat big shots. Three years ago he was a “Never Trumper”  but has muted that stance.

I don’t like the guy. That said, he is a hard worker who gets results. Even better, he focuses on rural Colorado’s needs, not just Metro Denver.

Our Senior Senator would be hard pressed to find any Colorado town on a map, IMO. He votes 99% party line. Thankfully, he rarely stands up to speak.

So, WSF, why did you vote this way? Because, in the General election, I don’t think Romanoff can win.

Wonder what's gonna happen with the ethics committee and Hick?

Our ballots came, were filled out, and dropped off.

To date, he has refused to appear. The committee has found him in contempt, and guilty. Now the Dims are forming their circular formation firing squad. The GOPers are sniping from the side.

On a side note, many Liberals got hammered by the COVID-19 stay at home. Many are government employees. Some of the Dims in the State Congress are getting heat from their districts. My father's 'Belly Flapping Principal' in play. The Liberals are finding out they are as vulnerable as the unwashed masses they sneer at.

Yeah, I read that contempt charges were filed and he didn't respond.

He almost seems to be acting like Biden a lot these days.....

He is. Earlier he wanted to run for President; said he didn't believe he was qualified to be a Senator. Maybe he is drinking too much product from his craft brewery.

So, is voting by mail the end of democracy as we know it like some would like us to believe?

I don't know about Colorado but there haven't been major issues with mail in ballots in Washington state.

There has been some fraud detected, but not a great deal. Every returned envelope requires a signature. How closely those a checked depends on the diligence of the County Clerk and Recorder.

The City and County of Denver is a cesspool and has been, Democrat or Republican, going back over 100 years. Early 1960's the Denver Police Department lost 10% of their officers, convicted and sent to prison for running a burglary ring, as an example.

Overall, I think the ability to swindle elections is enhanced with mail voting.

I lived in King County for 18 years. For six of those years, I was a precinct committeeman. The elections were far from clean from where I observed. Lots of funny business with election judges.
