This is a blog I didn’t intend to write. The subject keeps bothering me.
Briefly, a young puke, long history of lawlessness, got chased down by multiple police agencies. In the struggle to arrest him, one officer lost his weapon to the puke who was able to fire three shots. The officer died. Another officer then shot the puke. Puke later died in the hospital.
The puke’s family now wants to be paid and/or apologized to, and they want the officers involved fired. My anger knows no bounds.

What a slap in the face to all the LEO’s involved. I hope somebody goes after the family of this puke. I do understand their mindset. I have shirttail relatives that are criminals. I only see them at funerals. They thinks if they don’t get caught, what they do is ok. If they do get caught, the police are picking on them.
OLD AGE AND TREACHERY WILL OVERCOME YOUTH AND SKILL. And on the eighth day God said, "Okay, Murphy, you're in charge!" Anonymous comments will not be posted.

Just Shut Up!!!
Ongoing liberal efforts to bolster their position by getting their opposition to "just shut up".

So, if your ideas meet with widespread resistance, don't let the resistance be heard.
Besides, some money might be made. Greedy capitalism is bad but empowering the progressive leaders is good, no?
Back on the road tomorrow morning for a few days. Ya,sure Minnesota.

Neighborhood Grumpy Busybody
Growing up. I was puzzled by certain adults and the issues that bothered them. Youthful resolution; don’t grow up to be like them. Ha!
My abode is in the old section of town, across from the post office and two blocks from the railroad tracks. In the next block is the county morgue. Nice neighborhood. In real time, my clothes live here. For years I’ve spent twenty or more days each month traveling.
One irritating issue is parking. The Post Office draws a lot of traffic. The postal employees take up all the street parking. My neighbors and I have been enough bother, to the powers that be, that thirty minute parking and permit only parking is on the books. Next issue; enforcement. After each dust up, the parking is enforced. Gradually, the old habits come back. These poor workers are forced to walk one and one quarter block from the employee parking lot! Out of the thirty or so employees, three to four need to park twenty steps from their work entrance. This is about equal to the distance a postal patron, using those parking spots, needs to walk to the front door.
This week the police informed the postmistress parking limits would be enforced even if the employees are elected union stewards. Shortly after this photograph was taken, the street was clear and has remained clear. So, score a small victory for the grumpy old bastard who lives across the street.
This post isn't an attack on postal employees. Over the course of several years, I have always received prompt and courteous service at the counter. Several years ago, I worked for a few weeks during Christmas as a temporary at the airport facility. I was impressed with the hard work and dedication I observed.
Such a trivial matter, I suppose. My family is right. I need to get a life!

Son in Afghanistan
A recent picture he sent. I'm happy he has decent quarters. Look at the condition of his issued weapon. Looks battered. I know he maintains it diligently. Note the carabineer on the butt stock. As a medic, he needs his hands free. Must work better than a sling. Damn, that M4 looks crappy.

Whacking Moles - AARP Scams II
Referencing my posting http://wellseasonedfool.blogspot.com/2011/01/whacking-moles-aarp-scams.html
Heard from the State of Colorado. Lots of sympathetic concern for this befuddled senior. Conclusion; they won't do squat. Big surprise there.
Off on another four day road trip. Got to love the job. They send me to Minnesota in the winter and the South in the summer. My buddy, Dirty Al, tells me I'm crazy. Ha! He was the one parked in SE Texas in a snow storm.

Not So Bad
Back from a four day trip. Compared to much of the country, weather conditions were tame. First picture was taken just before passing a traffic stop. Temperature about minus 12. Wind 25 mph and gusting. The Minnesota Trooper was walking back to the window of a Chrysler 300. My question. Do you think the driver got a ticket or a warning?
South Dakota shut down I-29. Bunch of wimps. A few big drifts, zero visibility, and two buried highway patrol cars isn't a good reason. We just headed West and got behind the storm.
The South Dakota deer seem to be in good shape. They stood around on the highway like a flock of sheep. This was on Highway 47 just South of the White River. We saw hundreds of Pheasants and one moose where no moose should be; in the middle of the North Dakota plains.
