Strong Self Esteem

Woman, 40’s, coming out of the liquor store with a case of beer. She was wearing a flannel shirt, a give me cap, and Wranglers with a snuff can outline on her hip.

To swipe from a song, I don’t think she gives a rip what people might think about her.

I admire people like her.

Farm Girl expressed it better than I can:
"I've already had people ask me why I haven't posted something for International Women's Day. So, why haven't I?

Because I don't really agree with it.

You can talk all you want about gender equality. Yes, there are female farmers. Yay us! But to be totally fair, that isn't a new thing. Females have been farming a long time alongside men. It was at one point so normal that no one made much fuss about it. We're still out there farming but face it, it is still easier if we work as a team.

Yes, I am a female farmer. What I am personally best at is raising calves. I also know I fall short when it comes to anything mechanical (thank goodness for people that are willing to help when I break stuff🤦🏼‍♀️). I also am simply not as physically strong and yes, the cows sometimes act up around me because they view me as female and think they can. I have plenty of weaknesses and I am totally willing to admit that.

I know I am not equal to the guys I work with and that isn't a bad thing! I have plenty of my own strengths, but so do they, and we work together as a team and ask for each others help if we need it. Seriously, team work makes the dream work. So here's to ALL farmers, not just us girls.

So yes, in my opinion we (females) aren't equal, and we aren't meant to be. So why not admit everyone has strengths and weaknesses and those weaknesses and strengths can be used to complement each other? Be a TEAM. Don't create a divide."

Went to high school with farm girls, several who milked cows everyday. I can say, from personal experience, you best not put your hands places if not welcomed.
