This location is on the Teachers College campus, aka Northern Colorado University, the Bluest spot politically in the city.
Our building is full of people, mainly female, who never left Junior High School emotionally (I’m too old to have known middle school).
Somehow two snoopy neighbors found out, or deduced the COVID diagnosis and hustle their butts into the manager’s office. That resulted in this letter being taped to every door.
The neighbor in question is a retired surgical assistant. Her knowledge of medical facts most likely exceeds most of our residents. She wouldn’t put other people at risk. I know she is a good person; Banner adores her and will go running up to her if off leash. He doesn’t do that with most people.
I can’t fault the building manager as he is in a damned if I do, damned if I don’t position. At least he didn’t go full lockdown.
Most likely the snitch bitches are congratulating themselves and are feeling righteous. The stigma they have created for my neighbor probably doesn’t cross their minds.
A few of us in the building will now go out of our way to include our neighbor in our social gatherings. Several of us take our dogs out at regular times and visit while the dogs do dog business.
My neighbor told me she had a 1 ½ hour wait to be seen at the “Urgent” Health clinic. Seems the COVID scam propaganda is working so well people panic over a sniffle. A question comes to mind; what is the long term economic cost of all this?

Our building has 90 apartments. Other than the maintenance man (no spring chicken) everyone is over 62. Most are over 70. Many are dependent on public transportation since they no longer can drive. Many get few visitors. During the overdone COVID restrictions our common areas were closed and little interaction with neighbors was allowed. Many residents became deeply depressed and withdrawn.
Banner the beast became the Ambassador of Smiles as some residents would perk up and break out in smiles as they petted him. One day I kept score and 17 different people petted him. Banner graciously allowed them some of his time (mine didn’t count).
The building is now back to a pre COVID state physically but not socially. The three public computers are seldom used. The great room with fireplace and big screen television stays empty unless the Broncos are playing. Even then only a few are watching.
What is back and larger than ever are jigsaw puzzles with as many as six at a time being worked. Still, only half dozen residents are doing them. The Coven is playing their dice game most afternoon but they seldom have enough players. In the past there would be two games going at once.
My neighbor is convinced COVID shots cause long term depression and lack of motivation. At least within our building, that seems to be true.
I’m not around younger people as much as before so cannot say if they are acting the same. I do see little “spark” among people when I’m shopping but that may be a sign of our current national funk.
Our building has, on average, one to two deaths a month. Not surprising with so many seniors with health problems. Do they die from COVID? More likely, existing conditions that may have been worsened by COVID was the reason. Or, regular seasonal flu which isn’t getting much notice now.
If my neighbor is correct that side effect won’t be mentioned by our corrupt, at all levels, institutions, IMO.

A few days ago the manager and assistant manager were having lunch in the community room and invited Banner, and me, to sit down. While Banner kept some unwanted fast food out of the trash, I had a few words to say. Specifically, the lobby needed to be restored.
My points were:
1. This building is a residence, not an institution. While managed by the county housing authority, it is owned by private investors and we residents pay near market rent.
2. Entering the vast open space from the front entry is depressing.
3. The COVID excuse has expired.
4. They brought up some residents don’t police up after themselves and extra cleaning is required. My response was for them to pay some resident a stipend to spend an hour or two daily to keep everything clean. They first said that wasn’t possible but I pointed out it is being done at other properties under the housing authority umbrella.
5. Then I drove the guilt train. “The difference between private industry and government agencies is how problems are viewed”. Since they were still listening, I said, “Private industry first asks how to solve a problem. Government agencies first ask why something cannot be done”. I should add all of this was in a respectful tone and my temper was firmly in check.
Early in my management career, I was taught a lesson that has served me well over the years. My boss, ex Boeing engineer and Harvard MBA said, “We have policies to cover 90% of the day to day operations. We do this so we don’t spend time on trivia. The difference between a profit making business and government is how the other 10% is viewed”.
While I don’t want to go back to peddling cars, I think I still have the ability.
My niece is a career public health worker in Reno. While our political views are vastly different, my admiration for her courage and dedication is without qualifiers.

However harsh COVID has made our lives, for health workers it must be 24/7 combat. The public is resisting and the REMFs (Facui, et al) liars and corrupt. What a tough place to be.
So I ask the few readers that pass this way to say a prayer for the front line health workers, and pass along a thank you to those you may meet.
What did it cost to send this to every Colorado resident? What bright (P)regressive came up with the Lottery sheeple bribe?

The mask mandate has been extended another month depending on where your county/community falls on some “color” scale, purple to green. My county is currently listed as “yellow”.
After a year of this nonsense, I see increasing scofflaw behavior. Most common is the mask below the nose. My guess, over half of mask wearers including store employees, don’t cover their nose.
Must all be mouth breathers?
This morning I visited Harbor Freight where around 1/3 of the customers weren’t wearing masks (including yours truly). As a major downstream China outlet, their stock is low and many bare shelves were to be seen. What I wanted wasn’t in stock so I left without buying anything.
Emperor Polis will claim credit after MLB moved the All-star game from Atlanta to Denver. Interesting, MLB moved it to a city with around a 15% black population in a state with 4% of the population counted as black by the Census Bureau. The state has stronger voting laws, including ID requirements, than the recent Georgia voter action. Of course, Colorado is mail in voting only.
(Doesn’t matter really with the blue counties dominating the population and enforcement/scrutiny of voting absent in those counties.)
See where the American Media Maggots (h/t BZ) are all atwitter over SloJo “gun control” Executive Orders. What I see so far is a focus on fringe points that will still energize their base. Firearms owners will continue, “We Will Not Comply”, and trillions of innocent electrons will be killed as polemics are written. Fund raising by groups on all sides will be stepped up.
I think I will go take a nap.

Our extended family, father’s side, goes back four to five generations in Moffat County and the town of Maybell, CO.
It has become a tradition to gather for the drive, visit the private family cemetery 12 miles West, and often bury cremains. Cancelled once again.

My father’s grave. Hanging from the juniper tree over his headstone is a strip of velvet from a deer scraping his horns. Nothing would have pleased my father more than a deer standing on his grave. He would have laughed and laughed.
A Flight for Life chopper went overhead about an hour before I took my sister to the hospital for knee replacement surgery.
Pulling up to the entry, a large number of people were milling about, some hugging others, and others meeting and greeting. All were wearing masks. My assumption, which I believe valid, was a loved one was on that flight this morning.
Been there, done that one Sunday when it was my brother-in-law (who didn’t make it). At least we family could gather and be in physical touch with each other; that was comforting.
Because of this manufactured “crisis” and the mandated social control, those people this morning didn’t have even that possibility for help in facing their grief.
May the lowest levels of hell, or the highest if hotter, be waiting the cynical politicians and their fellow travelers who have inflicted this misery on millions solely to advance their agenda.
Side note. With the schools closed, Colorado has seen a drop of some 28,000 reports of child abuse and endangerment since the Chink flu scare started.
Normally I wouldn’t use “Chink Flu”. I rather like most Chinese people I’ve met. However, with Slo Joe issuing an Executive Order outlawing the term, I feel the need to verbally wave with just one finger.

In business negotiations, you should put in items you can live without or not even want. Your party (or parties) on the other side of the table object vehemently. After a suitable period of dancing around, you give in and they have their “victory”. You have what you wanted from the start.
At the rarefied heights of Congress, the process is more devious as too many other parties must be deceived, as in the general public and vested interests. The “show” is everything and the McConnells and Schumers of that world are masters of the game.
On the other side, you have President Trump, perhaps the very best negotiator ever to sit in the Oval Office. He sees through clearly what is intended to swindle the rest of us.
I sold hundreds of cars at retail using this basic business tactic. Why did I use it? For the same reason more sophisticated variants are used in congress; it works!
So, WSF, what is your point?
We are at war with China, their version of the Soviet’s Cold War. COVID-19 is one weapon. Bribery and corruption is another. They may believe they can absorb the current economic blows better than the West can absorb the financial and social chaos caused by this “pandemic”. Stealing the Presidential election is the last big push. Think of it as our Stalingrad.
This current COVID-19 Stimulus Bill shows how the negations work. I’m not smart enough, nor have access to the insider knowledge, to see what is there to toss out so what is wanted remains. Who will be the winners and who will be the losers (other than the public)? What further erosion of our civil liberties is buried in it (the devil is in the details)? My conclusion? We’re fucked.
Not only are we at war with China, we are living the Chinese curse, “May you live in interesting times”.

On a personal note, will be touring the wild lands of the Nebraska Panhandle Monday and Tuesday on business. I’m hoping the weather is decent. From personal experience I know driving can be a challenge. For that reason Enterprise will be furnishing the vehicle (complete with damage waiver). While always the cheapskate, there are times spending a couple of hundred makes sense.
Emperor Polis (D) CO has once again issued draconian COVID-19 restrictions. In my county, Weld, the County Commissioners are on record as will not comply.
My landlord, Weld County Housing Authority, on the other hand is all in. I’m sure somewhere someone whispered in their ear about State funding not forthcoming.
What next, hall monitors to insure we don’t visit each others apartments?
Just to be clear, my rent is NOT subsidized. I pay full bore. That is probably less than current market value.
As I returned from walking Banner this morning, the Manager came out of his office and asked me my opinion. I gave him my opinion.
Just because you can, should you? Note the receiver hitch. U-Haul rents trailers, cheap. That roof load might not weigh much but will be a sail in a crosswind.
Weekend politics as reported by our local rag included one short report on a President Trump rally and two long reports on Democrat events. If you want the gory details, this is the newspaper.

The first Democrat event took place in a local park. All very proper, social distancing and everyone wearing masks. The second was the candidate for US Senate seat meeting in the backyard with a dozen or so people. Again, social distancing and masks.
In contrast, the President Trump supporters were clearly scofflaws.
Amusing, outside, sun shining, and an 85° temperature. Perfect conditions for spreading the Chinese Flu.
I did bother reading the articles in their entirety. The usual Dem talking points, bless their hearts.
One comment was, in my mind, something of a reach. President Trump is responsible for the eight deaths and others disabled by COVID among the workforce at our local packing plant. Reason? He declared those employed in the industry as essential workers.
I can’t think of a tougher way to make a living than working for JBS in one of the largest operations in the country. JBS isn’t known for being a kind and caring employer. They are the largest employer in Weld County.
In Morgan County it is Cargill, JBS’ largest competitor, who have their own COVID problems to go along with their imported Somalia workers “issues”.
The Cameron Peak fire is back and stronger. Areas around Red Feather Lake and Crystal Lake are under evacuation orders.
Wonder what the week ahead will bring? Certainly the vacant Supreme Court seat will be in the forefront. That will give the Senate a good excuse to not address any other issues until the election.
