Two Is One, One Is None
The coffee carafe this morning. Fortunately, there is a
backup.
Off on an unplanned shopping trip today, but necessary. Only coffee can make me brave
the “Karen” weekend shoppers and the parking lot “chicken” games.
Had to go get a replacement coffee grinder a few weeks ago. The one I had just quit, and I didn't feel like spending two hours repairing (IF I could get it apart) a $20 appliance.
I get a refill of decent, strong coffee at the Shamrock when I walk Blue in the morning. After that I usually go down the "French Press" route. Please don't scorn me.
WSF - I always read the instructions. Unfortunately $20 appliances aren't usually designed for repair, meaning they can be very tricky to take apart. Some of these things are designed (it seems) to NOT be easily taken apart. Slam 'em together on the assembly line, and ship 'em. When they break you're expected to buy another.
LSP - I use a French Press. That's why I have a grinder! Almost bought a hand-crank "burr grinder" last year until I saw how much they cost! I'll have to see if I can find a less expensive one for those times in the future when the electricity may not be reliable.
drjim Hate reading instructions. that, and poor math skills is why I never considered being an engineer. That said, I once was a middling mechanic with a Haynes manual open next to me. Financial motivation.
Once had a house in Federal Way, WA with a "grease pit" in the carport. Got a lot of use. For about a year had a Chevette. What a piece of shit. That, and a Vega, cured me of owning GM products.
OldNFO Worse part was the delay in having my coffee! Off tomorrow to Wally World and/or target to see if I can find a carafe. May be able to salvage/swap the lid on the broken one. Next money cycle will probably get a spare for the spare.

I bet Banner hides under bed until you have at least started on your coffee.

Off to Target, dodging the Karens all the way...
I try to avoid the weekend insanity. There is plenty of insanity on the weekdays.

No, he spoiled rotten. Gets breakfast and a trip outside before I get coffee.

Money vs aggravation. Money often wins, especially if reading instructions is involved.

Worse yet is the Home Depot near where I buy my supplements. Karen's husbands?

Whatever way someone wants their coffee is fine with me. Imake mine the way I like it so I don't stand in any lines.

drjim, I think they make good sense. Maybe a hand grinder does too, hmmmm.

Have both an electric and hand coffee grinder, just too lazy to use them. I also have a small supply of whole beans.
Ohhhh... NOT good!
