Making a Statement
This gentleman seems to have opinions, and is willing to share.
A new client had an assignment 26 miles up the Poudre Canyon on Highway 14. Was a nice, relaxing drive as no one was in front of me. Often you are stuck behind some mindless dolt even though there are slow vehicle turnouts every mile or so. The following are just some random pictures.
The area has been hit hard by beetles and fires. Imagine having to fight fires in that terrain!
Saturday turned out to be a 20 hour, 560 miles driven, day. Pleases me I can still hack it but not without a lot of pain.
Four hours into my sleep cycle was up rubbing leg cramp cream into a thigh and a calf, drinking even more water, and drinking a glass of pediatric electrolyte.
Fuck this getting old shit!

Better than the alternative. And pain lets you know you are still alive.
When the cramps are bad enough the alternative becomes almost attractive.
I don't know how women stand it once a month. As the Orthodox Jewish prayer starts, "Thank you God for not making me a woman".

Is that far past the Mishwaka? I've done the Rist Canyon/Stove Prairie/Poudre Canyon/287 run more than a few times.
Just short of Stove Prairie Road. Not as much fun as you have. Late 80's Japanese pickup with 2.0 liters isn't sports car territory.
That's a beautiful drive to take visitors on. There's one twisty-turny part of Rist Canyon Rd that goes through some >180* switchbacks, and then you reach the crest, and wind up in a gen-you-ine Alpine Meadow.
I swear I can hear Julie Andrews singing right as we go over the crest, and drop down into the meadow.
It's a really stunning change in scenery after you break over the crest.
Lots of neat scenery in our corner of the world.
Looks pretty, and yeah, I think he gets his point across! :-)
Had to chuckle. He was dressed for the weather he was expecting. Twas a bit nippy to be driving in an open vehicle.
I love that canyon drive! I would say that man is not to be reckoned with. LOL. I love his spirit.
He did have a determined air about him.
