Another WSF rant going down the theology
path with only a superficial knowledge of the subject. If you are easily
offended, stop reading now.
Most of us use words or phrases, often
negative, as time savers so we don’t need to explain every one. Examples: Window
licker, Progressive, Klansman, Baby Boomer, etc. There seems to be another
(P)regressive phrase to self identify a mindset, “Jesus of Nazareth”.

Methodist, I’m no religious authority. As I understand these J of N types, public
shaming of “sinners” is commendable. They use the example of Jesus chasing the
money lenders out of the temple. Issues I have with this viewpoint are as
follows.
My understanding is the temple was a
sacred place. The Little Red Hen restaurant hardly qualifies as sacred.
Jesus is the son of God. Why is the
modifier, “of Nazareth” necessary or desirable? Code word for a mindset?
Is it sacrilegious to assume you have the
same powers as the Son of God when you act in “his name”?
A final observation: Mankind’s history is one of persecution, subjugation,
and murder by people claiming to be doing God’s work, whoever they claim as
God, or an ideology that is their God, and all are to be resisted, IMO. Your
life and liberty is at stake.
My apologies to those of you who have
devoted much of your life studying theology. This is not an attack on
believers.

I never heard of the Red Hen restaurant equated with a temple, but I do not watch the corrupt, smug, sly, lying, elite media and temper my viewing of Fox. However, the progressives are in full blown melt-down over everything. One more very conservative justice on the Supreme Court (an originalist) who will interpret the Constitution faithfully is clearly NOT what they want to see happening. Making a hero out of the rude restaurant owner and equating her nasty treatment of a patron hardly equates with anything holy or prudent or kind or good or just.
The rant was triggered by the smug self righteousness of one of my relatives.
J of N was a common way of denoting where a person came from or his politics, etc. He was known as the Son of God until adulthood. But I have to agree with the hatred spewed out by the religious right. We don't need the KKK or the NAACP, etc. We have Christians to spew their hate.
This particular relative and his fellow travels are Leftists. Think Shillary is too conservative.
Interesting philosophical contrasts. The Red Hen issue has been blown too wide open. I think she had a right to do that, but it was rude and immature and made her look stupid. Just goes to show the leftist way of protest and change, is acting like a baby. I would have used the opportunity to take the high road and let the secretary have personal time. I think it was a publicity stunt and only accelerated hate.
