Name Cleared

Lindsey Baum’s remains have been located and recovered. Ten, at the time, she disappeared from McCleary, WA in 2009.

I wrote a blog post, “Outrageous Abuse of Power”, 7/30/2013 about the ordeal of my late buddy, Al Imhoff, as related to her disappearance.

Her remains were found on the other side of the Cascade Range in an extremely remote part of Kittitas County.

If the assumption is made the abductor, or abductors, immediately went from McCleary to the dump site, Al was seen by dozens, including law enforcement, in and around McCleary the same day, the next day, and several days that followed.

In the event her body was stashed, and overlooked in a massive search, then moved days later it is unlikely Al did it. One, he didn’t know the area where her remains were found. Two, his Geo Metro hooptie was in such terrible condition it wouldn’t have made it over Snoqualmie Pass. Add the through search made by the police after taking the car with a search warrant, and the return to Al, that car wasn’t used to transport a body.

Could he have stolen a car? Sure, he and I repoed many together.

More likely, as having experience as a commercial fisherman and being next to Puget Sound, he would steal a boat and use that to dump a body in deep water.

It makes no difference to Al, he is long dead, but his daughters and grandchildren still live in the area. I’m glad the cloud has been lifted from his name.

Al was a gifted photographer and taught me much of what I know. His picture of “Beefy Boy” and a burned out Vietnam vet, "Sam the Slammer", are below. The three of us sold a shit load of cars over the years.

You’ve heard the expression, “Men with hard eyes?” Take a close look at these three.

Too little, too late, but glad the family at least knows. And Sam is NOT all there.

LL it was a long time coming. Hope karma has bit the fanbelt inspectors. Lying assholes.

I'm glad your friend was cleared, just wish it had happen sooner so he could know it. He knew he was innocent, but it would have been good for him to know he had been cleared, too. And I have seen many eyes like Sam's over the years. Many in the 60's and 70's. Most have mellowed out by now, as far as the eyes go. It takes a long time to come to grips with all they saw - if the ever do.

In that picture Sam is in a full torso cast after a VA procedure. He was a good guy with some personal demons. The places I worked were full of Alpha types. Lots of tension, more than a few fights. Beefy Boy and I got it on at one offsite sale. End up mostly a draw with managers getting between us.

Peace for Lindsay & Karma payback for Al. Too little too late. I hope that a thousand red ants climb up the pant leg of the FBI POS that harassed Al & more than likely shortened his life. At least his enjoyment of his life.

Blessings on her family as they continue in their healing process.

Oh, I remember this case. You and I had convos on the keyboard warriors and armchair sleuths, right? Glad your friend was cleared. May he rest in peace. May his family get some peace out of the resolution, but still there are scars from all the past bullshit. Sorry for cussing.

BTW...Sam the Slammer kind of alarms me with those eyes. You know what I mean.

MF Al was a strong man but he was hurt deeply. He didn't die defeated. Lived the full meaning of a tattoo under his right arm, "Marche ou crève".

Sam did two Vietnam tours as an Infantryman. He never said, but someone who was there with him said he was a tunnel rat. Always glad he was a friend. I wouldn't have wanted him as an enemy.
