Misconceptions

Once again WSF goes mentally wandering down a weed chocked garden path. You have been warned should you bother to read more.

There is the old trite saying, “The road to hell is paved with good intentions”.

There are a lot of videos on YouTube with Russians soldiers saying they were told they were “liberating” Ukraine at the request of the Ukrainian people. They are shocked to find the people are resisting.

Think of all the countries we, the USA, have “liberated” starting with, say Vietnam, only to find the people didn’t want us in their country and their lives at all.

“But we mean well, and only want to help you get a better life”, yada, yada, yada. Then we as a country become bitter toward the ungrateful wretches.

So WSF, what the hell is your point? Just this. The (P)regressives in this country don’t see themselves as evil, just superior. They only want what they perceive we need and find themselves enraged when their lofty well intended programs meet with fierce, often, vulgar, resistance. We reject their vision of a better life. They know better than us what is needed, just ask them.

Then there are the carrion eaters. They will affiliate with anything that benefits them. No need to bitch about it; they have been part of mankind as far back as records have been kept. Even further back, but that is speculation.

Question? “OK, pontificator of wisdom, what is to be done?”

Answer. Damned if I know, I just like to bitch.

Traditional Labor Day

What a wonderful eye attention getting eye sore! This old car peddler approves!

Face Mask

Found a good use for one. The mirror broke off in the car wash and no duct tape was to be found in the trunk (that oversight will be quickly taken care of). Only 2 miles from home, and 40 mph speed limits, that kept the mirror from flopping around.

Piss, Moan and Complain

Getting old sucks! My two vehicles need some very minor work that, in my younger days, I would do without even sweating.

Now this 76 year old obese body just won’t twist and scoot. Oh, let us not discuss bending knees or getting up without something to pull against!

Not that my fine motor skills were ever that good, today I spend more time picking up things I’ve dropped or that have slipped out of my grasp, then turning wrenches.

The soonest the one mechanic I trust can work on the Buick is 6/7! He is that booked up.

The Mighty Max spare tire hoist is jammed. Without jacking it up, I can’t get under far enough to see the jamb. I don’t want to crawl under it without it being up on secure jack stands (which are in a storage shed).  I can do the work at the storage lot but prefer to have someone around when I crawl under a vehicle.

I loathe asking anyone for help and have always been that way. Like any life decisions, it comes with a cost. Upside? Hones your survival skills.

Most likely, the PMC isn’t warranted. I’m ambulatory, breathing air, taking nourishment, and have beaten the actuary tables.

Well Shucky Darn

First weekend of the month and move in/move out time. Sucks when it happens during a March blizzard and -5°.

Sure glad it wasn't me!

Social Credit

(P)regressives are working hard to create a climate for a social credit system similar to China’s IMO.

So what happens to those of us with sub zero scores, like myself and those few who might read this blog from time to time?

We have bankruptcy laws and procedures for those in hopeless financial circumstances. Will a similar system be in place for those of us who are socially bankrupt?

(P)regressives as Missionaries

IMO, the political problems we have are caused by the ‘liberal’ elites viewing themselves as missionaries with a duty to enlighten the ignorant masses. Secondly, to protect the masses from those who reject the elite’s message.

From Google.

Missionaries
ˈmiSHəˌnerē/
noun
plural noun: missionaries
1.    a person sent on a religious mission, especially one sent to promote Christianity in a foreign country.
synonyms:
evangelist, apostle, proselytizer, preacher, minister, priest;
One blogger was kind enough to explain in a private email the Chinese control their ethnic/religious minorities by confining them to specific geographic areas and not allowing them to leave.

While being completely unconstitutional, wouldn’t it be a boon to wall off blue counties and not allow the residents to leave without permission?
YMMV

Spammers

If large numbers of spam comments are the sign of a popular blog, mine is star material. Since the blog only gets about 3,000 hits a month, must be some other factor involved. Automated search and send programs?

Oh well, that is why gmail has a trash can.

Miscellaneous Sarcasm

My lack of blogging is due to learning a new route and routine, and further messing up an already dysfunctional company. Yep, I fit right in.

Have some miscellaneous sarcastic ideas that I wanted to put to paper, and/or molest electrons as the case may be.

Just because cattle were once trail driven from West Texas to Moorcroft, WY is no reason for the BNSF railroad to name a siding near Torrington, WY “West Texas”.  On the best day of the best century, West Texas never looked that good.

You can tell the level of involvement of people in agriculture by the number of functioning lights on their stock trailer. Fewer lights, more involved. Don’t know how to classify the people I saw today with their trailer electrical plug sitting on the hitch. To their credit, they had their pickup lights on and were diligently signaling lane changes. Plus, the trailer was rusty and wobbled going down the road. Total involvement?

Denver International Airport has a “cell phone parking lot” where you can wait for your people pickups to let you know you they have arrived. It was far too convenient alongside the arrival road. Now you exit with all the rental car returns and navigate three traffic lights to get to the lot and to get out of the lot. Instead of large signage, there is now a tiny sign. Just another way the City of Denver shows their care for the citizens.

So I’m number eight in a line of cars on a two lane road with a 45 mph speed limit. I’m sure the jackass behind me sitting one car length off my bumper is pushing the seven cars in front of me to go faster.

On a positive note, I’m still breathing air and taking nourishment. Mega doses of MSM and tart cherry juice has pushed the pain in my knees back down to a tolerable level.  Life is good!

Scots Memories

Reading some Scots jokes at Bergheim Follies

dredged up an old memory.

Some 38 years ago while living in West Salt Lake City, we acquired new next door neighbors. We had a lot in common, same age, kids, not LDS and pets. They were standoffish so we never pushed it.

They had an Oldsmobile 442 that I admired but he like to get up early Saturday mornings, fire up a radio out on his driveway, and work on his cars.

I was working 60+ hour weeks and tried to sleep in on Saturday. Also my wife and I liked our “cuddle” time and his damn radio disturbed us. Two times I asked him to not play the radio, or at least turn it down. No cooperation.

When we married, my wife had a Zenith Circle of Sound Stereo which was fairly up market at the time. One Saturday morning I put the speakers outside the family room window which faced the neighbor’s driveway and waited. Soon they were outside, radio blasting, and washing their cars.
With the volume turned to maximum, let them listen to “Scotland the Brave”.

Message received and understood. The Saturday morning radio playing stopped.

But WSF, weren’t you concerned he might beat you up? Could have happened as I was down to a svelte 205 lbs and 18" guns in those days where he maybe went 150 lbs, if that.

A Naive Fool Asks a Dumb Question

In the dim past, we were taught the purpose of stock exchanges was for companies to raise capital to start and/or expand businesses. One example that comes to mind is Microsoft, who's first offering was on the Spokane Stock Exchange. The exchanges allowed investors of all sorts an opportunity to buy in. Sort of a win/win situation.

Seems all the exchanges have rapidly become another gambling casino with the most successful gamblers achieving high social status.

Nowadays we ordinary citizens are told to make good these gambler's losses via taxes collected by the government.

So this naive fool asks, why the fuck should we be responsible for the wretched outcome of these gambler's mistakes?

Oh WSF, you don't see the big picture. We must protect the pension funds, the insurance company reserves, the etc. Yep, just a dumb hick falling off the turnip truck here.

The situation makes me want to vote for Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. Seems they are the only ones asking the right questions.

Vicious, Sacrilegious, and Made Me Laugh

Shamelessly taken off Facebook.

One way to have all your Christian Fundamentalist friends un-friend you is this.

“The largest experiment ever conducted in history on the power of prayer proved conclusively that prayer does not work when Obama got elected a second term.

I know, exposes my lack of good character. Sorry, that is the way I sometimes roll.
