My response. "No, I'm against him because he is a stuttering clusterfuck. The only reason you are defending him is because he is black".

Bad Political Analogy?

Progressive and Liberals are scattered about in my extended family, and among many of my friends. I’m beginning to see something akin to a bad marriage coming apart.

They finally got one of theirs elected, much like they might have met and married the spouse they always dreamed of. It is slowly dawning on them they made a huge mistake; he wasn’t anything like they thought he would be, but they have too much invested. Hurts too much to admit they were mistaken about their dream candidate. Can’t criticize him, because that would be racist, and their white guilt burden lurks in the background. There is their belief the country needed a black president. Like someone defending their spouse against outside criticism, they defend the spouse fiercely, loyal to the end. But inside, what are they feeling?

I don’t doubt the patriotism or love of country of these people, and certainly don’t expect them to always agree with me. Somehow, we keep our disagreements civil and respectful. Again, these are people I’ve known for many years.

I feel for them over the next three years as their emotional marriage to this stuttering clusterfuck comes apart, but not too much. I reserve my feelings for the damage done to this country, the wasted opportunities, and the human costs they have foisted off on the rest of us.

Bushes fault?  Anyone that thinks I was ever a Bush supporter need only read my blog entry #300.

More Gutless Wonders

“They can have anything I have” said the 50 ish liberal as his simpering wife looked on. “Nothing we have is worth dieing for” he smugly proclaimed with an air of moral superiority. The couple, recreational hikers, were being interviewed on television. Some tool allegedly tied up a couple who were hiking.

The authorities were warning people, including the two television stars, to be aware. Guess he would also be willing to hold the tool’s testicles off the hot sand while his wife was being raped. Fuck all willing victims; they deserve what happens to their gutless asses.

Shove Your "Common Sense" Where........

A near universal phrase, used by the anti-gun crowd, is “Common Sense" gun laws. What does that mean? Who’s common sense, Sarah Brady or Wayne LaPierre? How can you have “Common Sense” when you are willfully ignorant? When you can’t even explain what the “gun show loophole” means?

They are afraid of guns, don’t like guns, and are made uncomfortable by guns. Their “Right" not to be uncomfortable supersedes, in their entitlement mentality, any other point of view. “I said it, it is a fact” is their unspoken mantra. They would be made even more uncomfortable if they took the time to learn the principals and facts influencing gun advocates.

On Saturday, February 13, 2010 I had a post, “Tilting Windmills” about trying to reach out to an old acquaintance who is anti gun. My goal was to get her to go shooting with me. She did, and it didn’t make a dent. GREYBEARD was right; a waste to time. Still, I am making a real effort to disagree without being disagreeable and talk to people who hold different points of view.

There is one group where I won’t waste time. They think they hold the moral high ground but will, out of a sense of nobles oblige, politely listen to my silly little point of view.

Oh well, I’ve never claimed to be wrapped tight and may just “Bitch Slap” the next one who uses “Common Sense”. Just saying, you know?
