Heemeyer Inspired?

Something a bit little lighter. National uproars come and go but local uprisings are a fact of life for any LEO.

Will anyone ever surpass Marvin Heemeyer?

Hope you were diverted from all the bad news, if just for a few moments.

I'm keeping my head inside a radio for now. I don't care to have my blood pressure elevated by things not of my doing.

Scored big on my six month medical exam. Everything is within normal limits, except my A1c, which is down to 6.2.

Good news, and a good plan. Recently did the remote check on the pacemaker. Something showed up and they are having me in next Tuesday. I'm not too worried as I'm not sure of the service life of a pacemaker and this one has been in for a few years. Should have bought the extended warranty!

Funny-
You refer to the Heemyer incident as a "diversion from bad news".
As a former deputy I was horrified by the thought of having to deal with something like that. Nevertheless, I admired his "mostly peaceful" protest.
I prefer the Wayne Crits method.
Don't know his story? It's worth researching.

I have several LEO relatives and am, in general, a supporter. I knew one of the deputizes on scene; worked hayfields with him when we were both teenagers. Granby was a speed trap/tourist fleece town at that time (entryway for Rocky Mountain National Park) and "professional" wasn't a word to be used with the police force. The county deputies and state patrol were professional and the ones who finally put a stop to the mayhem. Heemeyer had built in gun ports and weapons but only shot himself. Of course, the media characterized his hunting rifles as "assault" weapons.

Yep, Cryts cost himself everything, but he DID get the law changed. Heemyer became a cautionary tale.

I admire the man. Unfortunately, too many men of principal end up like LeVoy Finicum.

A cautionary tale!

A friend of mine once went to jail for trying to drive a back hoe through another friend's 2nd story apartment. Why did he do this?

Because Leghorn (real name) was having sex with my pal's gf in the upstairs flat of their apartment house. So "Broomfy" climbed into a handy JCB and drove it at the building. Intention being to scoop up the lovers and then flatten them with the shovel.

He did well and, I think, managed to smash the shovel through the wall of their intimate upstairs kitchen. Then he went to gaol.

They were bikers.
