Well, Shit!

Slo Joe and Ho election certified by Congress. The Deep State wins.

What can one pissed off senior citizen do?

I will never accept them as legitimate and so long as they are in office I WILL NOT stand for the national anthem or recite the pledge of allegiance.

This will be my personal way of showing respect for all the men and women who died or suffered wounds, mental and physical, to make this country great.

My hope is to live long enough to vote against them, assuming we ever have another Presidential election.

Future family gatherings, if allowed by our new masters, may not go well if different points of view are discussed. From comments on Facebook, our tribes seem to be split, even fragmented, by this election with several expressing sentiments that are extreme and derogatory. “Trump supporters can all go to hell”, as being one of the milder ones.

This probably reflects the country as a whole.

As always, YMMV.

Your comments sent me down these rabbit holes. Appears that the hands pointing to others are not clean.

Total Dead - 2,852,901
Total Wounded - 1,498,240
Total Missing - 40,031

The US intervene in 117 “partisan electoral interventions” between 1946 and 2000. That’s around one of every nine competitive elections held since 2nd World War. The majority of these – almost 70% – were cases of US interference. And these are not all from the Cold War era; 21 such interventions took place between 1990 and 2000, of which 18 were by the United States, and 60 different independent countries have been the targets of such interventions. But almost two thirds of interventions were done in secret, with voters having no idea that foreign powers were actively trying to influence the results. According to research, those countries where secret tactics have been deployed by the US include: Guatemala, Brazil, El Salvador, Haiti, Panama, Israel, Lebanon, Iran, Greece, Italy, Malta, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, Albania, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, South Vietnam and Japan. (19 Countries)

For Russia, the list of covert interventions includes: France, Denmark, Italy, Greece, West Germany, Japan, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, the Congo, Venezuela, Chile, Costa Rica, and the US. (14)

The United States also has a long history of rigging polls, supporting military coups, channeling funds and spreading political propaganda in other countries. The United States has been involved in a number of foreign interventions throughout its history.

It was engaged in 46 military interventions from 1948–1991. “The National Interest”, an American bimonthly international affairs magazine, carried a report in 2017, which held: “The United States engaged in 46 military interventions from 1948–1991. From 1992–2017, this number had increased four-fold to 188. These statistics introduce two important puzzles. First, why would military interventions rise at the same time success in military interventions has been declining? Second, why would military interventions increase after the Cold War?”

In other words, if the United States only intervenes with armed force when its vital interests are at stake, why intervene more often when there are arguably fewer vital interests at stake? The answer is that Washington too often intervenes militarily when it should not - and US security and prosperity have both suffered as a result.”

According to “The Washington Post”, till December 2016, the United States had tried to change other countries’ governments 72 times during the Cold War.

We perfected the means; now back to bite us. Doesn't mean I accept the situation.

Yep, the division is real...

The Left is convinced their opponents are all bark and no bite. Hate to say it, but they may be right.

They'll find out differently when they come for the guns.....

They won't come for the guns unless or until there is open armed rebellion. Camel's nose in the tent is working too well for them, IMO.

You may be right. I saw something either on Blogger or FarceBook that 2020 would be known as "The Year of the Slowly Boiling Frog".

How apt!

"... for all the men and women who died or suffered wounds,...".

What you said. I cannot get the thought out of my head, "For what?".
For them, I will resist as best I am able.

Absolutely agree. My son, the Medic who died in 2019 was on my mind when I wrote that. There isn't anything dramatic I can foresee doing at my age but every day I find some act of civil disobedience to perform. If nothing else, voting with my wallet.

I'm stunned by your comments about the Pledge and the National Anthem.
I'll have to consider that, but...
There will be chances in the future to begin to right this ship, and I will be anxiously watching for them, ready to act.
"What can one man do?"
Wrong.
WE ARE NOT ALONE.

My thought was what I could do, as one person, to make a statement. What I will probably do, stand but with my back turned. That is somewhat of a universally understood sign of disapproval.

What I won't do is stand meekly by while those criminals destroy my country and our heritage.
