Glad Momma Fargo is Retired

Driving in Momma Fargo's old stomping grounds last night, forgot I was in a 24' box truck instead of a one ton van while going under the bridge on McKinley. Not a pretty outcome.

What I didn't do was call the po po. Instead, hauled my scofflaw ass down the road.

Were Momma Fargo still on the job (this happened on her old shift), she probably would have tracked me like a bloodhound and issued an impressive good citizen award.

Think I used up all my brownie points with the boss and owners.  Since they didn't immediately fire me, there is hope.

Oh well, bad decisions lead to good stories. There is a reason my blog is titled WSF!

Ouch, at least you didn't totally destroy the box...

@ NFO. Stock photo off Google. I took the whole roof off.

I was going to ask if you stopped there and took a photo before leaving the scene. It didn't make sense to me.

Drive carefully. :)

You're are a lucky man. Any company I ever drove for would fire a driver that stuffed a bridge or a low anything immediately.

I think you have one thing on your side. From what I read in many of the trucking musing I read, there is a need for more drivers.

At my last licence renewal, I gave up my Class A. Couldn't justify the high price of it and in Florida you can't renew your A license on-line.

@ Scotty. For me, it is a part time job to supplement my income. If it goes away, have other things I can do (Property Inspections, repo cars). These people are among the most decent I've every worked for so hope I can continue.

For All. Axe has fallen - fired. Not surprised, not angry. The accident was all on me. Life goes on.

Sorry to hear that, WSF. Better stick to flat beds from here on in.....;-)

@ Scotty. Probably no more trucks. My knees are getting worse. Turned down a job today driving a wrecker for that reason.
