Democrat Playbook, Lie

Trump’s Fault?

Copied from a Facebook post by a woman I graduated with from High School. How does a rancher’s wife stay a rabid Democrat? Makes me regret once having my hand..............

Want to lay bets the false checkers at Facebook leave this one alone?

Jackalopes

Jackalopes

Banner often accompanies me on my trips. My explanation to those who question me, in an accusing  tone of voice, about making him spend hours in the backseat, is he is along to protect my vehicle from savage jackalopes. Lets me brag that I’ve never encountered a jackalope while he is with me. At that point the questioner usually wanders off shaking their head and muttering under their breath.

Democracy: Why care about just 500,000 people?

Wyoming is on track to be screwed over by the enviroNazis who dominate the Bureau of Land Management.

MORE

Paranoid or Prescient?

Going down a rabbit hole trying to connect dots.

1.    Many are speculating some new engineered crisis will happen before or after the Presidential election.

2.    Thousands of military aged male illegal immigrants are within our borders. Many are from China or Islamic countries. Will they form a fifth column?

3.    If Trump actually wins the election (unlikely IMO because the winner will be determined by those who count the votes) these fifth columnists will be activated, a state of national emergency will be declared, and civil liberties and elections will be suspended.

4.   What will the fifth columnists attack? Low hanging fruit. The electrical grid. Municipal water systems. Railroad tracks and bridges.

5.   Local terror?

I devoutly hope I’m wrong.

Circular firing squad

The Colorado GOP Party continued infighting won’t do anything to return Colorado to a red state, or even a purple state.

I’m a registered Independent who “leans” Republican. This is not for any love for most of them; rather a loathing of (P)regressive Democrats.

Wolves and Mountain Lions Need Food - Donate Your Pet (or Child)

Wolves

Cute and adorable, right? Watch the video.

MORE

Not so cute and adorable for ranchers.

MORE

Now the same envirowhackos who got wolves introduced by ballot initiative were able to get an initiative banning hunting mountain lions on the fall ballot. Last year 504 lions were taken legally.

The voters for these initiatives overwhelmingly live along the Front Range. The voters against overwhelmingly live in rural areas. Ain’t democracy wonderful?

Unintended consequences? A major lion habitat is the Rocky Mountain foothills, also known as the Front Range. Domestic pets are much easier prey than wild animals.

MORE

Nederland is about sixteen miles from Boulder up Boulder Creek Canyon.

Per a 2023 Colorado Outdoors Mag report, there have been 25 known mountain lion attacks on a human since 1990 – the last verified mountain lion-related death in Colorado took place in 1997 and involved a 10-year-old in Rocky Mountain National Park.Mar 25, 2024

Social Security Data Breach

Seems up to 2.9 billion SSN are compromised. I found a link to check mine and I am among them. Interesting that the address is over 15 years old and my d.o.b. is wrong per the site I visited. I’ve had a credit freeze with the three major credit reporting agencies for several years. In addition, I use an AVG program to keep me off data broker’s lists. I should be ok.

Forget kneecaps. Every hacker located should have their fingers and thumbs broken, one digit at a time.

Shoplifters

Added an item to the cart, and paid for it. Once home, opened the package and found it empty. Guess someone opened the package, pocketed the contents, and put the package back on the shelf. A $5 item – not worth going back to the store. Lesson learned? Shake a package before putting it in the cart. Even old dogs can learn new tricks.

Having more than enough accumulated sins to answer for, I don’t add more by shoplifting.

Travels with Banner-things we see

 Don’t blame her

The Democrat Congresswoman from my district isn’t attending the DNC. As a matter of course, the GOP operatives are attacking her.

MORE

Maybe she finds her time and funds can better be spent doing other things since several pundits have reclassified her race from, “leans Democrat” to "toss up".

Death by a thousand cuts? Natural Gas

MORE

Other than seeing their own energy bills go up, do any of these assholes face any serious consequences from their policy decisions? Related question? How can agencies set policy decisions without enabling legislation?

My bet some smart lawyers are already seeing how the Supreme Court Loper decision can be applied to state agencies.

How long will Colofornia remain blue?

Statewide, unaffiliated voters now number 1.8 million, or 48%. Democrats are at 1.2 million, or 27%, and Republicans at 900,000 are at 24%

As a natural course of action, the shellback Republicans continue to go out of their way to piss off Independents. Currently, they are so embroiled in internal power struggles they can’t present a united front. Rather, they seemly try to sabotage each other. The Democrats just sit back. Why interrupt your enemy when they are making mistakes?

Why do I care? Reining in the (P)regressive whack jobs won’t be accomplished with the current infighting. I dislike the GOP positions far less than the Emperor Polis crowd.

Banner’s Posse

He now has three ladies in our building offering to host him while I exercise at the recreation center. One makes him homemade dog treats. Four ladies and one gentleman routinely provide him with treats. One scatters treats along the 3rd floor hall for him to find.

A larger number of residents and visitors take an opportunity to give him petting and praising him as, “a good boy”. As we make our rounds, they call out, “It’s Banner! And Frank”.

Union Pacific #4014 Big Boy

The Fall Tour details have been released. Many in the Central Time Zone will have an opportunity to see and/or visit the largest operating steam engine in North America. Emphasis on “operating”.

MORE

Something that annoys me for no good reason is people who call the Big Boys “the world’s largest, blah, blah, blah”. They are among the largest ever built and, arguably, the most successful for their intended purpose. They are not the largest in North America and the rest of the world.

They were designed to haul large trains from Cheyenne to Ogden and back. Westbound from Cheyenne they need to climb from 6,000’ ASL at Cheyenne to 8,000’ ASL in approximately 30 miles over Sherman Summit then operate at high speed (by the standards of the day) across  Wyoming to Evanston.

From Ogden at 4,300’ ASL to Evanston at 6,750’ASL they needed to navigate two narrow canyons for about 70 miles. They were purpose built for the curves on the route they ran and were not suited for other railroads. ALCO built other large steam engines for other railroads whose needs were different.

Interstate 84 runs beside the UP tracks from Ogden to Evanston.

Wyoming has vast quantities of coal and the Union Pacific owns a lot of the deposits. At one time they used coal to power turbine engines. These proved to be high maintenance and were so loud you could hear one many miles away.

Economy + Voting

Every day the “news” has stories of restaurant chains going out of business or drastically scaling back. Banks closing branches. Pharmacies closing or scaling back. Household names like Avon going out of business. Southwest Airlines pulling out of smaller markets. The bad news goes on and on. COVID hangover is usually cited by the American Mainstream Maggots (h/t BZ). Certainly the reckless Biden Administration and Congressional (P)regressives aren’t at fault, right?

Question. All the employees, franchise owners, and others affected will still vote Democrat, if they bother to vote at all, right?

Question for Virtual Mirage

Will the financial structure under Harris/Walz 4th Obama term be able to fund construction of reeducation camps? Will dogs be allowed? Are we doomed to exist in military surplus tents ala Joe Arpaio? Will we be forced to live with the current horde of “unhoused”?

For everyone else, think it can’t happen?

Ying and Yang? Exercise

Starting in mid May I started and exercise and diet program to drop weight and increase mobility. Result? Gained weight. My mind says go, the 80 year old carcass it inhabits is saying, “fuck you, I’m retired”. With all that I’m not giving up but am rethinking my approach. For this week at least, I’m giving the carcass a rest.

Politicians and Drunks - Some Overlap

Vote Fraud –Dominion Voting Systems

Former Mesa County, CO (Grand Junction) Clerk and Recorder Tina Peters isn’t going down without a fight.

MORE

Colorado’s far left Secretary of State, Jena Griswold is, IMO, making it clear that anyone who questions election integrity in Colorado will get hammered.

With Emperor Polis term limited, and not picked to be Harris’ VP pick, Griswold might envision herself as our next Governor. That makes me shudder, as she had a 200% turnover in staff in her first year in office.

Polis? Likely our next Senator if saloon keeper Hickenlooper decides not to seek reelection.

Side note. A bill to impeach Griswold was introduced (by Republicans) in 2024 but went nowhere.

Public Adjusters

When you have a major insurance claim, dealing with the aftermath can be overwhelming. The demands for information from the insurance company and proving your claim take a lot of work. Enter the public adjuster. They handle the claim for a percentage of the payout. Like personal injury attorneys, YMMV.

Dave Dye is an 82 year old semi-retired car dealer and one of a few people I will deal with on a handshake. A self admitted punk, he joined the Marine Corp and credits the Corp for turning his life around. He likes nice toys and built his four car dream detached garage. Lithium batteries on a charger caught fire and the fumes ruined the contents. Frustrated, Sisty asked one of her friends (Sisty knows everybody), a public adjuster, to help. Although he usuallydoesn’t work this small of claim, as a favor to Sisty, he took it on. His team goes in, examines everything, takes pictures of everything, and looks up the replacement value. When they are finished, the insurance company is between a rock and a hard place. Dave has his settlement and is now dealing with flaky contractors. Sisty and I know the Kaplan brothers……… Probably not wise to go there.

Get Off My Lawn

The Road to Hell is Paved with Good Intentions

Women in Combat Roles

MORE

This woman gets credit for her guts and determination. All kinds of applause. What is lost is what happens after the finish line. Would she be able to treat a casualty effectively? Isn’t that the purpose of the test? In the video a male is in front of her, still on his feet, and moving well. Would he immediately be able to treat a casualty?

The Fort Carson based 4th Infantry uses the Manitou Incline as a training test. My late son, the Medic, climbed it more than once in full battle rattle plus his medic pack. Any bets on how many females can do that and still be able to function as medic at the top? What am I talking about?

MORE

Are there important military jobs women can do? Yes! Is the average male soldier stronger than most female soldiers? Again, yes. Why put women in situations where they can become casualties, because of physical limitations, just to check off some political correctness box?
