We're F**ked in Colorado, No Surprise

Once again our Secretary of State is found out.

MORE

She is the (P)regressive’s candidate for Attorney General. In her first term as Secretary of State, she had a 200% staff turnover in her first year. That won’t happen now as her predecessor, now candidate for governor, had eight years to weed out anyone competent with a shred of ethics.

In my CO-8 district, the socialist easily won over the true blue mainstream candidate in the primary.

Senator Incompetent lost the Governor primary so will have two more years sucking the D.C. tit.

The drunk in CO-1 (Denver), been there forever, lost to the Democrat Socialists.

Her opponent boasted, in her victory speech,

“Denver voters of all ages, of all races, of all religions sent a clear message: We will not wait,” said Kiros, who was endorsed by U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders late in the race.  “We will not wait to take the fight to Donald Trump and the oligarchy, we will not wait to abolish ICE and pass Medicare for all. We will not wait to put an end to the politics of the past, to get big money out of our politics.”

Welcome to the new Democrat Party whose “big money” supporters hide behind PACs.

And the Republicans?

Fourth of July

As much fun as watching fireworks are setting them off, IMO. A memorable 4th was 1965, Campo Pond, Hanau Germany. The NCO club spent thousands on fireworks. Campo Pond was about 40 acres of flat sand and scrub with a paved road across it.

50°06’41.39”N  8°57’43.75”E

Our 1st Sgt, Nick Womac, was in charge with the assistance of several senior NCOs from various units. Step and fetchers were needed; enter the 1st Sgt’s “Volunteer After Hours Work Party”, with yours truly and Tom O’Connor, my partner in crime, and others.

It took four full days to set up the fireworks. Rather complicated. Extra guards from the normal guard duty at the ammo bunkers were assigned over night.

Around 2200 the show started and lasted for over an hour. Those of us involved in putting on the show didn’t have time to sit back and watch. Still, being part of the crew was a memorable experience.

With access open to the public, the local German newspaper estimated the crowd to be over 2,500.

Two days were spent cleaning up. An artillery battalion swept the 40 acres picking up trash. The fucking Rads were the worst litterbugs ever.

During my time there, the show wasn’t repeated. 1Sgt Womac was later promoted to Sgt Maj and went to the 37th Engineer Group Headquarters. Hated to see him go; perhaps the best NCO I knew and the reason I never received an Article 15. If the Army had a medal for cat herding, Combat Engineer NCO’s would qualify.

Nanny State

My betters have decided I need to help “The Less Fortunate” with their gas bill. Trivial amount and I can opt out by jumping through hoops.

This is something I probably would have done voluntarily if asked.

Cynical me wonders how many good paying position will be needed to administer the program, what political flavor those employees will be, and how much will be left for those truly in need.

Car Story

Not a car sales story.

Roush Industries employed me for around three years as a test driver. This event occurred in 2009. I wasn’t present but did hear the story that became part of “teachable moments”.

One route ran from Commerce City over Loveland Pass to Fairplay then back to Commerce City over Kenosha Pass. All the cars were camouflaged and we covered the dashes when we left them for lunch, potty breaks, etc. Usually up to four cars ran together.

On this route a good place to stop for lunch was the Wendy’s at Aspen Park. When the crew came back to the cars there was a pool of coolant under a super secret Mustang. Concerned, the crew opened the hood.

A man with a camera slid up, started taking pictures of the engine compartment, and then beat feet. One guess as to how the coolant got under the Mustang.

The job started out as something to do. When I proved myself, it became interesting. Example:  Manager, “This is one of two prototypes in the world. We need it taken to the Hyundai plant in Montgomery. It must arrive with no dents, scratches, marks or blemishes. Take your time if you run into hail or highway repaving”. Normally a two day trip, it became a three day trip.

The employees with the most fun were in Las Vegas where a select few tested on the Las Vegas NASCAR track. For the rest of us it was strict adherence to speed limits with GPS tracking installed in every vehicle. Kansas, I-70 at 65 mph, gah! When Kansas finally raised the speed limit to 70 mph, it saved 24 minutes crossing the state.

As always, YMMV

Dirty Deeds

Sheep Dipping

The car biz refers to “sheep dipping” as getting the “brand” removed from a salvage title. While not common, doing it requires a certain amount of finesse. One Utah dealer has stepped on his pee pee.

MORE

Back in the 1990s, dealers used Idaho to “sheep dip” Washington titles. I wasn’t personally involved except selling the ‘clean title’ vehicles. In this era, how you can bypass CARFAX  or J.D. Powers must be difficult. Two dealers I know use a service and every vehicle they take in trade or buy from a wholesaler is checked.

How Colorado Stays Blue

MORE

Surprise! The Democrat primary candidates are savaging each other while the GOP candidates are staying civil. Can't get their hands dirty, don't you know.

CPAP

I’ve been sleeping with a CPAP since 1996. This YouTube clip reminded me of why.

MORE

My boss, Ed Jones, told me to get tested or get fired! He reminded me we were covered by Group Health; no excuses. I arrived at Group Health and they wanted me to spend a night in the “sleep labs”. Not happening, single custodial Dad with two young teenage boys. Instead, they painted spots on my chest were electrodes were to be placed and sent me off with the equipment. I returned the equipment the next morning and went to work. Pro tip; If you ever do this, shave your chest hairs first.

That afternoon I got a call from the head of the department insisting I come in RIGHT NOW! Grumbling, I complied. The conversation went like this.

“Mr. White, not only do you have sleep apnia, you have the worst case I’ve ever seen. See the lines on this screen? When this line is that low, you are clinically dead!”

Realizing he was dealing with a stubborn blockhead, he continued.

“Based on my experience, I believe you will soon have a ‘significant medical episode’. It may happen tomorrow, next week, but will happen within the next six months. If you are lucky, it will kill you. If not, it will severely impair you. You do have someone who can provide you with 24/7 nursing care for many years to come, don’t you?” What a salesman he would have been!

I said, “And my options are?”

I went home with a CPAP and have used one to this very day.

 Car Story

Hope this isn’t a repeat.

There a few occupations that often have shit credit. Two come to mind, preachers and cops.

One of my coworkers at Southgate Ford/Isuzu in Burien, WA was a black man named Paul. He was a great salesman and all around good person.

One Saturday he was trying to get his minister financed in a car. It was taking time and the minister was wandering around upstairs where we worked deals.

Monday Paul came up to me and said, “Hey Tank! Our minister had a great sermon yesterday. He spoke about race relations and how progress is being made. You were mentioned”.

Oh shit!!!!

“Yeah, he overheard you working a deal. Loser xxxx was sucking up to you”.

Loser xxxx said, “Tank, you do really well with black people. What is your secret?”

My minister said you were visible irritated by the interruption and snarled at him, “Simple, treat them like white people”.

Paul then gave me an evil grin and asked, “Tank, are you sweating?”. Bastard!

As always, YMMV

Grumpy Old Man Rants

Fuck Global Economy

The petroleum that truck is delivering was refined within 300 miles of this station from crude pumped from within 300 miles of the refinery. Somebody is making a $1 a gallon more than last month.

Television

I haven’t owned one for years as the amount of commercials piss me off. This last road trip reinforced that opinion. The large screen in the motel room offered a beautiful clear picture but the content didn’t. I ended up watching the last quarter of a UFL game and then a hockey playoff game. All I know about hockey I learned watching Slap Shot.

After less than an hour the TV was off and I was re-reading Showdown on the River, Old NFO’s western novel.

I have been told there are ways to get around TV commercials but I’ve never investigated them. I believe it involves reading  instructions.

Colofornia, The Liberal’s favorite lab animal

Outside money via “non profits” has been shaping Colorado’s laws and political structure for years. What the majority of residents want isn’t important to them and their well compensated lackeys. Here is another in a long list of outside interference efforts.

Econazi Wet Dream on Life Support – Wolves

A bad idea hasn’t gotten better over time.

MORE

If Colorado is a good fit for wolves they will make their own way here. There are natural solutions as happening with pythons in the Everglades. Their numbers are rapidly dwindling.  Otters have learned how to work in packs to eat the eggs as the females are nesting. Bobcats and coyotes have learned to attack when the pythons are molting and are vulnerable.

Wolverine “re-introduction” is still part of the econazi wet dream. The proposed introduction area won’t provide enough food for them in the dead of winter. Will that stop the dreamers? Nah, don’t confuse them with real information.

Deep Blue Boulder County is the place where the longest prison sustenance I’ve ever heard of was imposed.

Whiskey is for drinking, water is for fighting – Wyoming edition

Wyoming is on a fast track to the premier data center in the country.

The appeal is jobs, the scarcest resource in Wyoming. The boom comes with a price. Water, power, housing and schools will be needed. The state has around 560,000 residents, a number that has been stable for years, and now is facing adding as much as 100,000 more.

Does it matter, all those data centers next to the headquarters of this country’s strategic missile silos? WSF, always the ray of sunshine, aren’t you? No, Murphy’s first cousin.

Colorado Politics and Cowboys on Display

Sombrero Horse Drive

Every first weekend in May about five hundred horses are moved from their winter range to a ranch just West of Craig, CO.

MORE

Sunday the horses pass through the small town of Maybell.

The event is an excuse for a family get together (too disorganized to be called a reunion).

My Dad’s ancestors stated drifting into Northwest Colorado in the late 1890’s. A Great Uncle and my grandfather (who died years  before I was born), homesteaded between Maybell and Elk Springs.

A portion of the homestead has been set aside as a family cemetery.

We usually convoy to the cemetery on Saturday. Cremains are buried and graves attended. Saturday evening we have a pot luck supper in the Maybell Community Center.

Great glee is shared Sunday as we watch the gussied up dudes, who have paid $4,000+ to participate, pass by. We say howdy to the ten or so local “real” cowboys who are getting it done, for pay.

Commenting  your blogs will be light over the weekend.

 Emperior Polis’ Succesor?

Our current Attorney General is now a candidate for Governor. Some highlights from his first and second terms.

MORE

Under his leadership as the chief of state Law Enforcement?

MORE

He is party to 64 lawsuits against the Trump Administration for which the (P)regressives heap  praise.

What is not mentioned is he is the lead plaintiff in four. All the rest he signed on to suits brought by other (P)regressive Attorney Generals’ from other blue states. He is yet to win any of the four.

Big Brother is Watching - Flock Cameras

Our State Legislature recently punted on a bill to outlaw these cameras bowing to the howls of LEOs loving them.

Hasn’t LL mention the amount of copper in these cameras? Hint, hint criminals.

China Meddling

Evidence has surfaced showing Colorado econazis are being funded in part by China. Simple, keeps Colorado minerals in the ground and remain dependent on China is likely the reason.

Car Story

A salesman, Jerome “Butch” Cassidy had a belligerent, perhaps intoxicated, customer that was making demands and rude comments. Finally, Butch had enough and told him to leave.

The customer went belly to belly with Butch. Three of us walked up behind Butch and stood there with our arms folded. The asshole started for the exit when he noticed stairs going up to the second floor offices. He went running up the stairs and came to the owner’s office.

The owner was at his desk, reading the newspaper when the asshole asked him, “Do you work here?” Dumb question.

The owner shifted slightly, lowered his newspaper, and said, “I own this store”.

“Well, you salesman told me to leave, and I am mad!!!!”

“One of my salesmen told you to leave”, asked the owner?

 “YES!!!!”

“Then why are you still here?”, said the owner and went back to reading his newspaper.

Asshole left. Butch went up to the owner’s office.

“Butch”, said the owner. “You get about one of those a year”.

Election Fraud? What Election Fraud? Nothing to see here folks, just move along

Colorado Voter Purge

337,000 out of 4.3 million voters recently were “purged”. A big victory is being claimed by various folks. Bullshit! The names of 337,000 inactive (haven’t voted in several past elections) voters have been removed. We still have more registered voters than what census figures indicate we should have. Fraudulent registered voters haven’t been removed. With radical Democrats entrenched at all levels of government nothing will change, IMO.

Some of Colorado’s 64 counties have cleaned up their registrations, notable El Paso (Colorado Springs). None of the solid blue counties have.

 Doubling Down Democrats

Every month it is the same irritant, a mail piece from the Democrat Party with a “ballot” asking me to vote on issues. Oh, soliciting donations.  I’ve replied with a polite, yes doubters, polite note, asking to be removed from their mailing list.

Their response? Today I received the same two mailings. One had my first and last name. The second had my first, middle, and last name.

In Colorado when you apply for a driver license, you are automatically registered to vote. You are asked if you wish to declare a party affiliation. Voting in Colorado is by mail. So, send out propaganda to each and all; much, like the way Jena Griswold runs election voting.

With a list of registered voters, sending mail is easy. For example, this AWFUL (Affluent White Female Urban Liberal), one of five or more candidates qualified for the primary ballot for CO-8.

Are more “male” Democrats growing facial air to show they are “tough”?

Back to driver licenses.

Yes, a citizenship question is asked, but it is not a requirement for obtaining a license. Under the Colorado Road and Community Safety Act (SB-251), Colorado issues driver’s licenses to residents regardless of immigration status or citizenship. The application determines if the applicant is a citizen or a non-citizen to issue the appropriate, distinct type of license.

Cynical me wonders how diligent clerks are with this question? The applicant marked the question. Do the clerks ever ask or just accept the application?

 Charlie Kirk Bullet Controversy

Portions of the internet and You Tube are talking about alleged discrepancies between the recovered fatal bullet and the recovered firearm. Mass conspiracy theories are out for public consumption.

So what to believe? I find the opinion of these two attorneys who defend people where firearms are involved interesting.

MORE

My takeaway? Tain’t settled science.

Wolves

The saga continues.

Has it ever occurred to the wolf advocates that taking a animal from the place it has survived and putting it into a completely new place might constitute animal cruelty?

 War Story

“The drinks are on the house, the change is from you last visit”, said the restaurant proprietor as he placed two large margaritas and money on our table. My wife and I had returned to our favorite Mexican restaurant after a few weeks avoiding the place.

Renton, WA late 1980’s had a small Mexican Restaurant, Rodriguez’s, on 3rd Avenue that shared space with a bar. For those who know Renton, parking on 3rd is scarce but there was ample parking towards 2nd.  The bar entrance faced 2nd Avenue near Wells Avenue, where we parked.

My wife enjoyed margaritas. We would start our meal with margaritas and then order. One evening after finishing our meal, we left through the bar and passed a table with three drunks, one who reached out and grabbed my wife’s breast, saying, “Are those real?”

A nearby chair broke over his head. His two companions quickly jumped up. The chair was still mostly intact so they each received a whack or two.

After walked over to the bar and leaving money for the damages, we exited out to the car. Wife, of course, played the pissed off card. Secretly she was pleased. Good material to entertain her friends with, no doubt.

The Rodriguez family went on to build a big business with a large stand alone building in Renton and branches in the Seattle area.

The drunks? Never heard a peep from Renton P.D., or saw the drunks around town.

A Trip Around the Sun Doesn't Change Things

 Nice Kitty

A solo female hiker apparently was killed and partially eaten by a mountain lion near Glen Haven, CO New Years Day. Two lions in the area were promptly hunted down and killed. There are many news report for those interested in the details.

Glen Haven is a spot on the road, Highway 14, in a slot canyon NNW of Fort Collins. DRJIM has family that live in the area.

LL (Virtual Mirage) has explained how mountain lion devour their prey and it is not a pleasant way to die.

 Political Fallout – Colorado Edition

PDJT vetoed the bipartisan Arkansas Valley Conduit bill. Why? His explanation.

MORE

This puts two of Colorado’s four Congress critters in a hard spot. They are not happy. Our Senior Senator, who wants to be Governor, is pissed because it was “his” bill. A co-sponsorer.

MORE

This project started life in 1962. Lots of money has been spent over the years with little to show for it. Long story here.

MORE

There is much speculation that PDJT took this action because of his loathing Emperor Polis. Maybe, but just maybe, the business man side of him thinks this dog won’t hunt.

Here is a thought. After 63 years of not making this plan work, perhaps it is time to come up with a plan that will work?

 Unhinged Conspiracy Theory

Why Cackles, excuse me, Kamala’s handlers wanted Waltz as her running mate didn’t make sense to me. Now that the massive fraud uncovered in Minnesota suggests a pipeline of tax dollars flowing into various (P)regressive accounts was the motivation.

 Boo, Fucking Hoo

ICE arrests in Colorado. An article, from a left leaning “independent and non partisan; they claim” online newspaper.

Note the emphasis on “human cost” and the number who “had no convictions”, etc.

MORE

Let us be clear. If you are in this country illegally, you are a law breaker, period, full stop. Law enforcement is often messy, innocent bystanders are impacted, and mistakes are made.

One more law enforcement push is needed, IMO, and that is going after those who employ these illegals. Further, those who facilitated illegal immigration need to be taken to task.

So, WSF, you heartless bastard, you don’t care the people here illegally are human beings? Answer: they are not my problem. They had homes and didn’t want to pay the high personal costs of cleaning their own foul nests. They come here for what they can get, not what they can contribute. They keep their way of doing things with little or no regard; disdain even, for our norms. Yes, there will always be exceptions. Not enough, IMO.

 Banner Report

He is living his best life at Sisty’s house as age takes a toll. He can’t get into the back seat of a car without assistance and his rear legs are weak. With other people in the house, another dog, and cats he isn’t lonely and he has unfettered access to a fenced back yard. I miss him but know I made the best decision for him.

 Car Story

If anyone now reading this blog was reading it 15 years ago, many of these car stories are reruns.

Among the groups I worked with a practical joke was known as “spinning”.  One Saturday morning Dirty Al spun a complete sales force. I was sitting with my hand an inch from the phone to grab sales calls when he came up and handed me a newspaper open to yesterdays winning lottery numbers plus his lottery ticket. “Check my numbers”, he said. “Check your own fucking numbers”, was my response. He then started whining about not having his glasses. Finally, to shut him up, I checked. Damn! For a moment I thought about running out the door with the ticket, but instead said, “Congratulations Al. Looks like you won $7,000, 000”.

What he did was buy a ticket for the next drawing with the winning numbers from this drawing.

Chaos erupted. Al milked it for every moment.

A future story will explain how revenge is a dish best eaten cold, just saying.

Safe Roads

 Bad Trucking

Disclaimer. For those who read Virtual Mirage, LL beat me to this.

On just I-80 estimate place 6,000+ big rigs traveling daily through Wyoming. The operation below lasted three days, targeted trucks using county roads to evade the ports of entry, and resulted in 20% of the trucks taken off the road either for illegal operators and/or defective trucks.

MORE

Given these drivers were willfully breaking the law; it is difficult to tell how many trucks pass the ports using pre-pass are not in compliance.

PrePass is an electronic clearance system for commercial trucks that uses a transponder or mobile app to allow qualified vehicles to bypass weigh stations and ports of entry at highway speeds\

1%, 5%, more? As everyone clutches their pearls about how the turmoil in the trucking industry will raise costs of everything, this citizen will pay more for safer roads and professional drivers.

I would put down a bet that everyone who might read this has been behind a semi on the Interstate passing other semis with a 1-2 mph speed differential. Professional drivers don’t do that, often.

Wolves + LGBTQ

Seems the current CPW director is stepping down. Not to worry, he is staying on the state payroll, just in a different position. The interim director will be a National Guard Major General.

Campaign Violations?

No worries, just the current Attorney General (who wants to be Governor) and the Secretary of State who oversees elections. There is nothing to see here folks; just move along.

Pareto’s Law

Came across this on LL’s Virtual Mirage and thought of variants.

My middle aged son is high on the Asperger Scale, with a near photographic memory and the ability to do complex math in his head. Likewise, he is far down the social ability scale. Worse, he can’t be bothered. At work, he is reliable, on time, and will go all shifts without talking unless it is directly work related.

He was recently fired from a production job because he didn’t get along with “fat Mexican women”. The HR department, tired of their bitching, decided to get rid of him instead of dealing with the bitches. Decided to get rid of an 20%er to keep the 80%er's happy.

 Modern management practice.

Placate the 80%, who are causing 80% of your personnel problems, by getting rid of the 20% who makes you a profit.

Wolves, Colorado Politics an a side of Epstein

Wolves

The wolf introduction program keeps floundering. The state needs more wolves, and is being turned down by states that have wolves.

MORE

A similar program is more successful, native ferrets. Their natural prey is prairie dogs.

MORE

Surprising this program continues, given Emperor Polis’ husband is a fierce advocate for prairie dogs.

MORE

In recent years Marlon Reis has scrubbed his Social Media accounts. Could this be in response to his term limited Governor husband’s Presidential ambitions?

WTF

Congresswoman Stacey Plaskett receiving and responding to Epstein’s text messages while hearings involving him were underway was justified, she said, because he was a constituent. That prompted me to look into the matter.

She is a lawyer, born in New York City, educated at Georgetown, and was an Assistant District Attorney in New York City. At some point she moved to the US Virgin Islands and is on her sixth term as the territory’s representative to Congress.

 From Gemini AI.

Stacey Plaskett's committee assignments for the current Congress include the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the Ways and Means Committee. She is also a member of the Budget Committee.

Those are some powerful committee assignments for a non-voting delegate.

She is married to a Community Organizer and former professional tennis player named Jonathan Buckney-Small.

How more “Deep State” than her can you get?

Kersey Speed Trap

The situation has gone viral. Most creditable view is the police chief thought he found a discrepancy between state law and his city ordinance. My understanding the town council has met and $40 is the cap. Looming are the many options open to those who paid $350 tickets. Lawyers are getting involved.

Pure Colorado Politics for those interested

How Colorado became a solid blue state was can be traced to four individuals. Money was their tool. Seed money from them, big money by getting the “right” people elected to funnel taxpayer money into the system they created.

the work of four liberal philanthropists who set out to remake Colorado through a mix of public-policy giving and campaign donations—software entrepreneur Tim Gill, venture capitalist Rutt Bridges, Internet businessman Jared Polis, and heiress Pat Stryker.

Often called “the blueprint”,  a longer explanation follows for those interested.

MORE

Just to make sure, throw in voter fraud.

MORE

Can that ever be reversed? Not right away, but in this video Jon Caldara gives a “blueprint”.

MORE

My takeaway is the far left Democrats that dominate the party today have alienated the liberals and conservative Democrats, much like the far right Republicans alienated the moderate Republicans. Caldara seems a path towards bringing together the middle.

I hope it works. I won’t live long enough to see it but my grandchildren will.

 Fuck Green Energy

My woke electricity supplier wants another rate increase that, they say, will raise my monthly bill by $10. That may not sound like much. In fact, it is about a 15% increase. All of this, supposedly, is to meet Emperor Polis’ goal of 100% renewable by 2050.

MORE

At the same time Data Centers, with enormous power requirements, are being courted to come to Colorado. As an aside, where is the water coming from that they need?

 As always, YMMV
