Often we voters overlook state and local issues being more intrigued by Presidential campaigns. As a practical matter, state and local issues impact us more, and sooner.
Colorado is unique in passing the Taxpayers Bill of Rights (TABOR) in 1992 (before the great unwashed immigrants from CA, MA, NY, NJ,etc became a power) and, to date, is the only state. For those interested, here is more information. Full disclosure; from 1970-1993 I lived in Utah and Washington. Does that make part of the unwashed herd?

Very biased, IMO, so read it with skepticism.
The (P)regressives hate it and try in all kinds of ways to weaken or work around it so as to fund their pet causes. Perhaps this is why are roads are so shitty; a comprehensive Transportation appropriation hasn’t passed in years. While they weasel ways to spend more than the state takes in, we are far from the worst off. The last figures I’ve seen says every citizen’s share of the debt is $2,600. A pittance compared to the national debt.
It is a hot button again. Here is a mailing piece I recently received.
Close to half the state’s tax revenue comes from the energy sector and energy sector services. The (P)regressive loons are well on the way to killing off that sector, starting with a 2,000’ set back on any new wells now required. Coal fired generating plants are being closed down. Coal mines pay taxes, a lot of taxes.
Inflation is the hidden tool politicians everywhere use to pay off government debt. That and pushing the debt down the road to future generations.
Cliché, but very true, elections have consequences.

Trying to keep abreast of local issues and vote, campaign, etc responsibly.
If we don't get Culp elected Governor we are going to be in a world of (more) hurt in Washington.
As usual, I'll wait until the ballot gets here to decide on who/what to vote for.

WA politics can get strange. I lived in the Seattle area for 18 years and was a precinct committeeman for many years. Sometime you might read about the Owl Party (Out with logic, on with lunacy), a bunch of Olympia bar flies. Dixie Lee Ray might not have been elected without them siphoning off a lot of votes.

I'm fairly firm on the people but am mulling over all the other ballot issues.
I'm getting informed on the local candidates and issues/measures. There's ONE house in our little sea of blue with a Trump sign. I've made note of the other signs in his yard for various elections, and I'm looking into those candidates.

Mainly Trump signs here but there is one upscale condo area with a lone Trump sign and many Biden signs. Hickenlooper isn't doing well, sign wise, in Greeley. Gardner is. The commissioner races are interesting. District 3, where I don't live, has Sister Kink (Lori Saine) as the GOP candidate. She will probably win. The at large race has our Congressman's ex-wife as the GOP candidate. She should win.
But sooner or later (maybe sooner) they run out of OPM to spend...

I didn't know about TABOR (nicely biblical) but it sounds prescient. And wow, if the scamdemic's taught us anything it's the importance of local/state politics. I had no idea Governors had so much power. Perhaps they didn't either.
Well now I do and so, obviously, do they.
TABOR was a political idea pushed in the 1980's in several states, but passed In Colorado before the state was overrun with (*&^%$#@_).
