Cameron Peak Fire
Tonight around 8pm looking WNW from Greeley, CO. Jim is about 30 miles closer and has a good account. http://every-blade-of-grass.blogspot.com/2020/09/misc-bits-and-pieces.html We too have a layer of ash on our vehicles and the smoke smell is strong.
Yeah, we might cancel the clan gathering in Bellvue. The Kids say they have ash and smoke, too, and since there's **another** new grandbaby a couple of weeks old, they might not want to have her out in it.
We'd get ash from wild fires in SoCal, and there was a LOT of ash fallout along the beach where I was living during the Rodney King riots.
This is a completely different type of ash. It's not "Urban Riot Ash", it's "Colorado Wildfire Ash", and has identifiable bits of trees in it!
Morning habit is to open windows and the deck door for fresh air. Not this morning. No clouds I can see looking up,but visibility is about 5 miles horizontally. The mile dog walk this morning wasn't pleasant between the smoke and mosquitos. Now I have two reasons for wanting snow.
LL Exactly what I'm doing. I've got an unhappy dog whose routine is disturbed. One of his favorites is to lie on the deck and watch the world go by. A breeze would help.

I'm sorry for the fire trouble y'all are having. Sometimes, you just crank up the A/C and stay in side and let the filters do their work.

Our in-laws at the ranch said yesterday that they could see the flames at night. They live about 5 miles North of Owl Canyon Road, West of the I-25.

Thursday from I-80 the smoke was visible ith no clouds to obscure the view. Not a view I liked!
