Coven Approved

New, high visibility reflective gear for the dog has met the approval of the chief harpie.

He walks easier in this, with less tugging on the leash, and less wrapping of the leash around his legs.

The “Service Dog” tag is Velcro and other patches are available. The law in Colorado is somewhat vague. The animal must be trained for specific tasks but the owner cannot be asked about why they need a service dog. I decided to put the patch on to  preclude any “Karen” busybodies from bothering me.

We do two one mile walks a day, weather permitting. The first is early morning and the second after sunset to avoid the heat of the day. He doesn’t care but his fat owner avoids the midday heat.

I think the high visibility harness will make walks safer for both of us.

He looks very official.

Do you find the hot pavement bothers his feet? Another good reason not to walk when it's hot, if you ask me. I know, you didn't ask. :-D

I avoid asphalt pavement when the full sun is out.

Good move. Also gives Banner more status.

Looks great! We've got a harness like that for Pebbles, and it makes her much easier to walk.

She pulls as hard as UP 4014, and sometimes I wonder who's walking who!

Two nights ago when we returned from our walk seven residents petted him before we could escape to the elevator. He took it in stride. How much higher can his status go?

He will occasionally jump and hit the end of the leash. Last winter, on a slick sidewalk, he made me fall.

Glad he's a bit more controllable. And be careful with using the service dog tag. That can lead to trouble if he does something he shouldn't.

I probably won't push the service dog even though he is usually well behaved.

I might put "rabid murder dog" on the velcro just for shits and giggles.

Ha! might get a reaction.

He is certainly a cutie, and the green! I love it. Dogs certainly do get us outside, don't they? My husband walks our lab/greyhound mix every morning. If he takes too long (according to her) she starts pacing and whining. He loves it :-)

Banner isn't very vocal. He is the master of quilt with his soulful brown eyes.

Healthy dog and fat owner?
Good for you both!
Keep it up.

Trying to go from morbidly obese to merely obese. Down from 310 to 255 but seem to be stalled.
