This is a happy time in the car biz as
people get their refunds and have money for a down payment. Sad, the number of
people whose only savings account is overpaying their taxes.
This year I’m getting back a few shekels
from Uncle Sam and a bit more from the Centennial State. Pisses me off. I try
hard to game the system so every year I owe. Let them use my money for free?
Hell no! Then file on 4/12 and request an extension to pay. Some years I’ve
strung them out till July.
When I was in my 30’s went five years
without filing a return. Working straight commission you can avoid having
anything withheld (at least at that time). Nothing happened. Filed my return
and waited for the SHTF. Nada.
Being of Celtic heritage, I hold grudges
forever. Any chance I get to stiff Colorado Revenue pleases me. I am still
pissed they taxed my service pay when I didn’t spend even a full day in
Colorado as a serviceman. We were sworn in, walked to the train station, and
shipped out in a matter of two hours.

Same here. We got a few $$ back from Colorado, and owe a few to Uncle Sam.
Funny that. When I enlisted back in '60 in Texas they shipped my ass to Colorado.

Megabucks Polis will try to change that.

The revenuers tried to tax military members stationed in Colorado.
While in the Navy, I never filed a tax return. But I have made up for it ever sense. Paid some, got back some. Never evened out.
Did file when I was in the Army. Big deal for the chain of command.
Can't pay, won't pay.
But seriously, if everyone stopped filing what'll they do, arrest the whole country? No, they'd have to sort out interest on the national debt. Tricky.
Pretty close to break even this year. I 'think' I owe a bit to the IRS, but no state taxes in Texas!

Think the revolution has already started and the IRS is sitting on the information.
Old NFO
No state taxes. One reason I want to relocate in Wyoming.
