Can't Resist

Prop 112, the dumbest thing ever on the ballot.
What do you expect when the oil is in Weld and the Dipsticks are in Boulder?

Couldn’t resist taking this off a Facebook posting by State Senator Greg Brophy.

Prop 112 is a ballot initiative the envirowhacos managed to get on the state ballot. Calls for set backs on oil wells that will almost end oil wells in Colorado. If you are interested.

Oil revenues fund a great deal of Colorado’s public education is several different ways.

As an aside, Rangley, CO High School has a productive oil well on the school grounds. The other Northwest schools envy their activity buses and snazzy sports team uniforms.

Depending on the source, Weld County accounts for 89% of all crude oil production and 33% of natural gas production in Colorado. Few votes "for" in Weld County is a safe bet.

Abso-fricking-lutely voting NO on 112.

I knew Weld County was mineral-rich, the Wattenberg Field, but didn't know they contributed that much to the totals.

There are "patches" yet to be developed along the Platte River that may be bigger plays then what is now in play.

The left will never give up on doing anything that will make it easier and possibly cheaper to get oil on US soil or in our waters.

I'll have to look that up.

We have more than enough oil and natural gas to take care of ourselves, and then there's coal.

Northwest Colorado has coal deposits 5,000' deep in places. Wyoming? The Union Pacific Railroad owns vast deposits. One of the reason they were late to go diesel and why they developed coal turbine powered locomotives.
