Life

Sometimes it is necessary to set aside the day to day world and simply enjoy a moment. This morning, for example.

Banner approved our morning walk. 53°, clear sky, no smoke and numerous pauses to check his peemail. I focused on our surroundings and let my mind coast.

Back to the apartments, the Treat Lady was in the common room holding court so Banner got treats and pets. Soon, it was upstairs for another treat for Banner (he has me trained) and coffee for me.

I need more mornings like this.

It is a beautiful morning. Delivered workers out by Nunn and the Front Range is such a nice sight to see. Cottonwood trees are starting to turn to fall colors which, as you know, I love as much as the mountain color.

We do get a treat most years as the cottonwoods line the riverbanks. Too bad elm disease has killed off so many trees the early settlers planted.

Did you observe the speed limit in Nunn? Populations around 500 with four police officers. All travelers on US 85 beware!

Don't we all need mornings like the one you had. I do marvel at the wonder of nature and her healing powers. And taking a pee on a tree is good for the sole, too.

Made me LOL.
Life IS good. I'm glad Banner wants to share it with you.

Indeed. Mid-60's here in DFW this a.m. Got a decent nights sleep, and went out after breakfast to do some much needed pruning. Then into the garage to process and wash some 44-40 brass which is now drying in the sun.

Our daughter sent video--our seven month old grandson just started to crawl. Made a bee line across the floor for the dog food bowl. The look on their Corgi's face was priceless.

Now starting my third year with me. I tell everyone I won the dog lottery with him.

I can imagine Banner in the same situation. However, his food bowl is emptied immediately. Perhaps the only really annoying Bannerism is his food fetish.

Good to hear you and Banner are enjoying the Fall sights/sounds/smells, as the case may be. Pebbles has been enjoying her morning trail walks, too. And when we get home, she want to lay in the sun and soak up some BTU's for the coming Winter.

Stunningly beautiful day here, and my son and I went running around shipping some things, and doing errands.

Got rid of enough stuff on ePay the last two months to pay off the new radio on the CC, **AND** buy a new snowblower.

Made a dent in the stacks of stuff I'm getting rid of, but have plenty more to sell.

The snowblower is good news. You will probably soon have a chance to try it out.
This is my favorite time of year in CO.

Sometimes the simple joy of walking in the morning makes it all worth it...

You are correct even though my principal motivation for walking is the health benefit. Perhaps the mental health aspect is too often overlooked.

Old NFO said...

It usually is, because we were 'normally' worrying about what we had to do that day...

Perhaps we need to discipline ourselves to only mentally engage our immediate surroundings.
