Lemons to Lemonade

Taking some time off working. I have an adult granddaughter in Denver. Will pick her up Thursday and we will drive to Spartanburg, S.C. to spend Easter with her mother, my youngest son, and all the kids still living at home.

Looking forward to the drive. She is a feisty, opinionated,  take no prisoners young woman. She is her mother’s daughter. As I understand, her savage Chihuahua will accompany us. Plus, she is an excellent driver.

On the downer side, another first cousin is fighting cancer. At one time I had 50+ first cousins. One was killed by a drunk driver. All the other deaths have been cancer related. I don’t keep score but maybe 50% have come down with it, predominately female, and about half of those are gone. Ghastly plague!

Sometimes the Big C runs in the family line. And it seems everyone has a form or it somehow. Enjoy the ride and the ankle biter.

Absence of proof is not proof of absence.

Some people sneer at my alternative medicine practices.

If alternative medicine works, then it works. Sometimes it does. Sometimes it isn't as effective as we'd like.

Then there is Asian medicine. I think that acupuncture can be good if applied by an expert. I've also been to China and friend, you DO NOT want to get sick there. I've seen people go to hospital with a severely broken arm, only to have the Chinese 'physician' advocate herbs and chanting. No, you need to SET THE ARM and immobilize the break. There was push back from the Chinese.

In the future, hopeful gene therapy will be able to proactively deal with these horrible hereditary diseases - and there are a lot of them.

Gene therapy and, possibly, stem cells.

I try to keep my body in an alkaline state by eating foods like celery and avocados. I ingest 8 drops of food grade 30% hydrogen morning and night in a beverage. This seems to work for me.

Cancer grows best in an anaerobic and acidic environment. I strive to keep those conditions deflected in my body.

Being a Celt, I'm prone to skin cancer. Nitrogen treatment for basil cells is expensive and getting an appointment can be a problem. I use the food grade hydrogen peroxide on the rough spots on my skin. Hurts like hell for thirty minutes but it works for me.
