Still my favorite "heavy". Something "just right" about a 747.
Remember my first ride as a passenger. On takeoff was pushed back in the seat like dropping the hammer in a big block Ford.
Sorry about the quality of the photo. Getting close to anything at DIA is difficult.

Soon the only ones flying will be Air Force One.
The freighters may soldier on for a few decades. I certainly hope so. The current commercial aircraft, from all manufacturers, are little more than culverts with wings.
I love to fly, but if my destination is within 18 hrs or so, I will drive, because I hate the bullshit at the airports.
I am sure they will end up changing the numbers. You know they are offensive. AK-47, 747. See what I did there?

Oh and you took pics at DIA without getting busted? Sly.
Ditto.
Proper response for a graduate student.
That looks like an 800 series...
Will take your word for it.
Their still building freighters I Washington. Some of my former Sea Launch buddies who opted to stay with Boeing went to flight test ops for the new freighters.
If Boeing built these as well as B-52, and I suspect they did, these aircraft could be flying at 75 years of age!
What is going to replace them? They will work as freighters until some new technology comes along.
