Still A Favorite
Still my favorite "heavy". Something "just right" about a 747. Remember my first ride as a passenger. On takeoff was pushed back in the seat like dropping the hammer in a big block Ford. Sorry about the quality of the photo. Getting close to anything at DIA is difficult.
The freighters may soldier on for a few decades. I certainly hope so. The current commercial aircraft, from all manufacturers, are little more than culverts with wings.
Their still building freighters I Washington. Some of my former Sea Launch buddies who opted to stay with Boeing went to flight test ops for the new freighters.
If Boeing built these as well as B-52, and I suspect they did, these aircraft could be flying at 75 years of age!

I love to fly, but if my destination is within 18 hrs or so, I will drive, because I hate the bullshit at the airports.

What is going to replace them? They will work as freighters until some new technology comes along.
