Bundy Ranch - I Was Wrong

A couple of days ago I made some intemperate remarks on other’s blogs. As an example,

Well, I was wrong. Jumped to conclusions, without all the facts.  while letting deep set attitudes cloud my thinking.  For too many years, I’ve watched  people gaming the system for their own benefit while screwing everyone else with water rights, grazing permits, timber sales, hunting and fishing access, school land leases,  etc., in rural areas, while claiming to be patriots.  Turns out Mr. Bundy has been meticulous in paying all of his county taxes for many years. His fight has been with the Federal government.

Something remarkable has happened in that corner of Clark County, Nevada. A United States Senator’s sleaze has been exposed (sorry, that is redundant). Eminent domain abuses highlighted. Citizens, fed up, taking both arms and action to put a stop to it. Amazing!

A flash in the pan, or the start of a movement?

Social media played a big part in the outcome of this, I think.
It scares me though, that it was so difficult for the government thugs to be reined in. Scary that people had to physically GO there and risk their lives to help.

I'm amazed at the restraint of the people there. Not the government types, they were facing a firefight they would probably lose.

Dunno, but there was enough stupidity on both sides that it's LUCKY this didn't spiral out of control (my opinion)...

Hoping it's a start to a movement!!

The federal government, apart from military assets, has NO business owning ANY land. It's just another intrusion into the sovereignty of the states.

What Harry Reid has done only adds to the many proofs.

Yep. Would have taken just one idiot on either side.

Google "Bundy Ranch". The different ideological slants of the reports make one wonder if they were writing about the same event. The disconnect of urban progressives and rural conservatives is profound.

I think both sides of our, so called, leadership in Washington are doing everything in their power to maintain that disconnect! There's a huge disconnect between urban republicans and rural republicans too!

Guess everyone wants to feel "superior" and need someone to look down on.
