Something Not Seen Often

From the Jackson County Museum, Walden, CO

I didn't know Winchester made a semiautomatic this early. Gasp, Assault Rifle.

Others on display

And this. May be an 1903 Springfield, may be a newer Enfield. I'm not a gunnie.

And more.

A very small portion of our clan.

They need to oil those guns before they rust to nothing.

Sweet picture of your clan. What was it a family reuinon?

Interesting pics of some 'interesting' rifles! And good folks in the picture too! And I 'think' that was a straight 03 Springfield...

@ Cody. Somewhat of a reunion. This weekend is "Pioneer Days" in Walden. Our ancestors came to the area around 1885. The woman at the bottom right is an aunt. This will probably be her last trip. All of us in the picture are related.

None of the firearms in the museum will likely see any maintenance. All of them were "tools", not collector pieces. Many miles in saddle scabbards and pickup gun racks represented in that collection.

Weren't you afraid some of those guns were going to attack you and kill you?

::shiver::

Did you hear about the 14 year old in Phoenix who shot an armed intruder?

@ Ami. Scary. Bet not one of them has been deactivated. Why, someone with the right ammunition could go crazy! Worse, there may be a thousand or more small museums like this one scattered around the country.

We need to put and end to sites like this.
