The Green Future Isn't Now

Voting Your Wallet

New car sales are down in Colorado. EVs sales are way down.

Extracted from the article:

Still, the drop in clean car sales stood out in contrast to Colorado’s target of getting more than 900,000 zero-emissions cars on the road by 2030.

That target wasn’t set by the people of Colorado. That is the target of the true blue econazis and self anointed elites imposing their will on the serfs. Alas, the serfs can still vote with their wallets.

What is missing from this article, and from most people writing about the car business, is WSF’s constant reminder that there are two buyers in most car sales, the people driving away with the “happy tag” and the lender financing the purchase. With new car prices North of  $50,000 many people can’t qualify for the loan, even with 84 month financing.

Those needing to drive more than 200 miles from their base can’t, in an EV, especially in the winter, without charging along the way.

To stir the pot a bit more, who in Canada will buy the 30,000 Chinese EVs Imperial Carney has signed on? Their economy is tanking.

More Blue City Death – Seattle

Starbucks announces moving their headquarters to Nashville. They will save about $12,000 per employee per year escaping Washington taxes and Seattle’s lunatic mayor and city council.

Don’t cheer too loud Tennessee. Those Starbucks employees relocating to your state will likely bring their political views with them. Likewise, those coming from Chicago.

More, Please

The law enforcement in Laramie County (Cheyenne) Wyoming is having an impact on bad truckers. Too bad Larimer County (Ft Collins) Colofornia doesn’t do the same. Hwy 287 is now becoming a preferred route.  Past Wellington to Owl Canyon Road then to Hwy 287 North to Laramie, WY.

Western Mental Illness – Iran Edition

The anger and outrage I feel with some people’s views overwhelm my meager writing ability. These soulless fucks are praising,” the brave Iranian people”, who are placing their women and children on bridges and around power stations to deter collation forces from bombing them.

Do they really believe these women and children are doing so voluntarily?

The Mullahs and Revolutionary Guards don’t care about anyone other than themselves. They will retain power at all costs.

5th generation warfare is their strong suit; using worldwide social media to exploit useful idiots with a side of cyber attacks.

Their short term strategy, IMO, is to survive the Trump Presidency and work hard, behind the scenes, to get another Joe Biden or closet Muslim elected in 2028.

Car Story

I screwed the pooch, and got fired. The bear ate.

We made a deal without the trade physically present. While not too common, deals are made based on the customer’s word. We did one and I went 120 miles South to deliver the truck and get the trade. First problem, the trade had far more miles on it. Second, the customer’s family was there but he wasn’t and had not signed the title transfer. In a moment of stupidity I had one of his kids sign.

When I got the trade back, the deal fell apart and the owner’s wife, Gail Felton, insisted I be fired. Little Hitler, aka Steve Lance, fired me.

My response was, “Sometime you eat the bear, sometimes the bear eats you”.

About a year later I ran into Steve and his wife leaving a supermarket.  He hollered, “Hey, come work for me”.

 What about Gail Felton?”.

“Fuck her, I bought the place”.

Over the next ten years, I would get pissed and quit or he would get pissed and fire me. It became a standing joke.

To this day, Steve likes to tell others about the bear remark.

As always, YMMV

Consequences, Unintended or Intended

A rant.

Do (P)regressives know, or care, about the negative consequences of their actions? I doubt it. As a group, they are so certain of their righteousness any self examination or doubt seems beyond them.

This is very personal with me as a parent. My oldest son, who will be fifty Sunday, is autistic. He has lived in the Seattle area since early childhood. We relocated from Utah because there was a program in Seattle that would work for him and I had a decent job offer there.

Last night I received this email.

Someone living at Keystone assault a staff this morning and the police didn't come when the staff had called the police and the guy at Keystone had got away with it and the police had been around Keystone and I had not been seeing the police in my neighborhood lately and last night when I had took a walk a lady had harass me and those days the Seattle police don't care and Seattle is getting more dangerous And might be another Detroit

I get similar emails frequently.

So far his neighborhood, Wallingford, has been fairly peaceful. It is north of the insanity and across Lake Union from the city center and Capitol Hill. “Keystone” is a facility that houses, in different wings, the mentally ill, domestic violence victims, and mentally challenged people like my son. It is a volatile mix though mainly peaceful. That said, they often need police service.

Keystone once had a cafeteria to serve the residents and my son worked in it for years. When Seattle (P)regressives  got the minimum wage raised to $16 an hour, the cafeteria was closed leaving the residents to fend for themselves. My son has access to a small kitchen but must keep his food under lock in his room.

COVID-19 restrictions has hit the mentally challenged even harder. The public library remains closed. The failing transit system monthly bus pass is now around $36 a month. Church service and twelve step programs, both central to my son’s life, were suspended and now operate in a restricted manner. The Puyallup Fair, an annual event he enjoys immensely, cancelled. He worries he won’t be able to take Amtrak to Portland Christmas to see relatives.

Over the years I’ve helped him, very limited help, because I want him functioning on his own. I’ve never became his guardian; he is legally his own person in charge of his own life. Tough love?  He has a smart phone I pay for and a computer he somehow acquired (and a girlfriend).

The events and social systems that led to Hitler’s rise to power are similar, in too many ways, to current events in our country. What is lacking is a charismatic figure. Kamala Harris?

Anyone who reads even a  little about pre WWII Germany knows what happened to the “mentally defective” and other powerless people. I’m convinced many of today’s (P)regressives will be all in favor of similar programs in our country. YMMV

Seattle has a long history of radicalism and exploitation. Geography plays a part as does being a port city. In that regard, it isn’t too different from port cities around the world.

I lived in the area for eighteen years and enjoyed my time there. If it weren’t for the political climate (rain doesn’t bother me) it would be high on my COLOEXIT list.

Road to Hell

(P)regressives continue to prove the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Seemingly they can ignore reality because their dreams are so powerful reality can be ignored. Such is the case with the $12 minimum wage as put into law in Seattle and elsewhere.

Examples of the negative effects of this dream are everywhere. Been to a chain burger joint lately?

Please allow me to put it into personal terms. My oldest son, now in his late forties, was born autistic. Through a long and torturous journey he ended up some years ago living in a residential mental health facility. He quickly progressed and no longer needed the mental health treatment but was kept on as a renter in another wing and as a dishwasher and kitchen helper, a job he successfully held for years.

The kitchen provided simple meals for all the residents of the facility at a cost the residents could barely afford. Along came the $12 minimum wage and the facility, which has always operated on a shoestring, was forced to close the kitchen.

My son, who is very good at his work, quickly found a job washing dishes in a restaurant just outside the Seattle city limits.

As for the residents of the facility? They are well and truly fucked.

Remember the hippie anthem, Give Peace a Chance? Too many people don’t want peace for that to work.

I do understand the altruistic motivation of (P)regressives. In college, the book by Edward Bellamay, Looking Backwards,

spoke to me. Like so many hope and dreams, the perfectibility of mankind is necessary to achieve them. That tain’t happening, IMO. YMMV
