The fight goes on over the Colorado River water. California
and Nevada have done little to improve their infrastructure while demanding
more water, counting on political clout to get their way.
Seems they have bet wrong.

As someone who lived on Colorado’s Western Slope I’ve
always been aware of the skiing business. With some amusement, the angst of
skiers sitting for hours on I-70 so they can max out their credit cards warms
my evil heart.

means for the state political climate remains to be seen but all ten vote for,
and support financially, Democrats.

Last winter’s scant snowfall will only make the town’s

Both Sisty and I are Ski Town USA (Steamboat Springs)
High School graduates. She was a far better skier than me.
Several relatives are buried in the Breckenridge
Cemetery. It has little maintenance which, to me, is a sign the current area residents
have no ties to the community or the area. There are twenty year old trees
growing among the graves.
As the carpetbaggers, idle rich and ultra wealthy move on
to despoil Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming these towns will once again fade away.

Car Story
In the 1970’s I owned several Cornbinders aka International
Pickups and Travelalls. They were
terrible for rusting from road salt. One jewel was held together with Bondo and
paint but still looked good. (I bought it in that condition knowing what I was
getting)The spouse wanted something smaller and I traded it in on a used 1967
Mustang plus cash. Nice, V-8, automatic with cold A/C. After exchanging titles
and cash I was leaving when the dealer’s lot attendant backed the Travelall into
a spot too fast and hit a post. Most of the exterior door panels separated
below the windowsills and landed on the ground.
While the dealer took in the scene with his hands
alongside his head, I carefully exited the lot and never looked back.

These new gun laws won't stand up to challenges. Frustrating, but it'll have to work it's way through the courts.

Please, no choo-choo train. It will cost more, and deliver less, just like ALL the urban rail systems. Just NO.
My 72 El Camino was about that bad. If you slammed the fuel filler door hard in the Winter, the Bondo would crack. Or fall out, as the case may be. I'm sure the VW dealer who got it didn't keep it long...
On the new car side of the car story was the small-town Chevy/Pontiac dealer I knew who got stuck with one of the last of the El Caminos to be made with 4-speed transmission and whatever joke passed for a high-performance engine in those days. Late 70's if I recall correctly and big engines were not popular. The guy who ordered it did so for his son's high skool graduation present and upon arrival, the kid decided he didn't want it after all. It had been a small town everybody knows everybody else so no deposit necessary handshake kinda deal so the dealer was just stuck with it. It sat in the showroom for about a year and a half before he finally peddled it off somehow.
It was heavily discounted toward the end, enough that I actually thought about buying it but for once, good sense prevailed.
These gun grabbers pass laws that plaster shit on the wall where it sits until months or years later it gets scrapped off. Until then, it stinks and there are no consequences to the gun grabbers.
CoCo will be California High Speed Rail lite.
California is too broke to build anything sensible with long term benefits, IMO.
One way to move something like that is a wholesale bundle. The dealer has three or four desirable trades a wholesaler wants. Wants these? It is a package.
Colorado is screwed, and not even getting kissed... Great car story, though... LOL
I probably won't live to see it but the collapse of the resort towns (except Estes Park) will so change the state that it will go back to red. I would caution against investing in REI.

I'm not a skier, annoyingly, but have no sympathy for the carpetbaggers. I've heard they ruined once pleasant Aspen.
Aspen was the first to be overrun.
I'm all in favor of rail, I love it a lot, and want STEAM. Speaking of which, one of the things I'm still able to like about the UK is fairly decent train travel, a journey's like a holiday in itself. It has declined though, horrendously, but I won't dwell on that.
Rail makes sense in the UK and EU. Surface transportation from the stations is usually convenient. This country? Consider Denver to Seattle. 36 hours. Driving 20 hours.
