Orange Man Bad, ad nauseam

Blue State Warfare

Colorado’s Attorney General has filed his 41st lawsuit against the Trump Administration. Priorities? Crime in Colorado? Maybe not so much.

He plans to replace Emperor Polis as Governor.

Keep on Trucking

The ongoing brouhaha about big rig drivers who don’t understand English is, IMO, about safety. When a driver who has been in the country four ten years and has been driving a truck for eight years cries about losing his livelihood because he doesn’t understand English, my response is, “Fuck you, you arrogant asshole”.

Recently in Cheyenne two drivers were busted.  Both illegals. In one case, the truck company’s permit had been revoked. No mention of the second driver’s employer. That said, an overweight dump truck will likely prompt law enforcement attention to every vehicle on the road owned by that company.

A part of the long article.

“It might be 10 years ago now, maybe even longer, but I-70 coming into Denver out of the mountains, and there was a traffic backup, and signs warned of that ahead of time, saying, ‘traffic back up ahead,’” he said. “A driver who did not speak English drove into that and killed five, eight people, because he came in at 60, 70 mph out of the mountains, lost his brakes because he couldn't read that there were runaway truck ramps.”

Locals’ call that stretch Floyd Hill. Eastbound, at the top, is a huge sign warning of steep grade with instructions to truckers to use lower gears. A second sign is about one mile further. A prominent sign for a runaway truck ramp at the bottom in addition to message signs along the way.

Fatal Flaw?

Our local electricity provider, Xcel, has installed these new “smart meters”. We now get billed at a higher rate for using electricity in what Xcel has decided are peak times. They can remotely turn the meter off. Paranoid me wonders how many of our enemies have hacked the Xcel system and, when the time is right for them, turn off big swaths of the electricity grid?

Xcel is very woke and brave new world green. They take it upon themselves to educate/indoctrinate  their customers.

The Knees Know

This past Tuesday had a viscosupplemention treatment where   hyaluronic acid is injected in the knee joint. It is a gel that cushions the joint that has lost cartilage. While not a ‘miracle’, it gives me some relief for three to six months.

No more Paper Hanging

11/1/2025 will be my last day delivering mortgage dun letters. Winter will soon be upon us and “fall back” is Sunday. My night vision is not what it once was and trying to read house numbers on residential streets while the GPS announces, “You have arrived” is getting harder. More to the point, icy sidewalks and stairs will soon be a hazard. At my age, one bad fall might mean Assisted Living. This past summer I tripped and found I no longer can do a PLF.

Now I’m not meeting the public for business, should I grow a beard?

That was forty six years ago when I had a full head of hair.

 Combat Engineers 12B/12C

Good to see things haven’t changed from sixty years ago. A fellow Ditch Digger cousin vet agrees. As my Jarhead friend Mike likes to say, “Go spit shine your shovel”.

Climate Change

Always with the alarms. Always with “studies show”. Tiresome.

The danger in all this is the “Chicken Little” effect, IMO.
