Colorado Wolf Pack
The environazis have successfully made introducing wolves in Colorado law and policy. Wyoming has a different take on the matter. Seems Colorado wolfs are showing up dead in Wyoming. Surely, no Colorado rancher would kill one then take a short drive across the state line and dump the carcass? Heavens no! Long article here. MORE
Will cracking down on this be a priority for the Jackson and Moffat County Sheriffs? Will average January temperatures reach 90°? Routt County is different in there is only one road to Wyoming, closed in winter, and high clearance vehicles recommended.

Short geography explanation. From the Utah line across the Wyoming line are, in order, Moffat, Routt, and Jackson counties. Moffat and Jackson counties are impacted more by wolf reintroduction. As the wolf population grows, Rio Blanco and Grand Counties will be impacted.
But what wolves will be introduced? The wolves once common in the Rocky Mountains were about the size of Mexican wolves. The wolves to be introduced are Canadian wolves which are much larger.
What? No Masks!!
A study validating common sense for protection against colds. Face diapers not needed. MOREWhat I find telling is this practice originated in the conservative areas of Colorado and is grudgingly being started in the (P)regressive Front Range areas.
Electric Vehicle Trap
This has been floating around Falsebook for a few days. Authentic? Who knows? Sobering if true.
I Hear A Train A’coming
Brace yourself! WSF finds a public transportation scheme that makes sense.Housing in Steamboat Springs, CO is so expensive only trust fund snots can afford it. Workers are squeezed. Many live to the West in Hayden or Craig, 25 to 45 miles away. Other live South in Oak Creek or even Phippsburg and Yampa, more miles away. All are served by two lane highways with very few passing lanes.
The Union Pacific rail line is well maintained with coal trains running constantly. Some sort of commuter train service along the Yampa Valley River corridor makes sense. MORE
In a earlier blog I wrote about the Yampa Valley Mail.
https://wellseasonedfool.blogspot.com/search?q=yampa+valley+mail
Would reviving the Yampa Valley Mail be financially viable? For Denver area residents wanting to do “The Boat”, avoiding a four hour+ drive over two mountain passes might draw a lot of passengers.
Colorado College Football
Disclaimer. I’m a lukewarm football fan. As a player I never rose above mediocre. What gets my attention is Coach Prime Time Deion Sanders and his impact on the University of Colorado, aka Birkenstock U, and the (P)regressive sinkhole of Boulder, CO. Christian man, starts every meeting with a prayer, and exudes traditional values. In Boulder? Well, if you bring in the big bucks all is ignored. Estimates are last weekend $17,000,000 was spent in Boulder businesses. CU merchandise sales and ticket sales are over the top.Lost in the excitement are other Colorado teams. Last year Division II runner up Colorado School of Mines is 2-0 as is the Air Force Academy.
Up the road my mother’s Alma Matter, Wyoming is 2-0.
Sorry, Donkey, aka Broncos fans. 0-1. Yeah, yeah Sisty, the Seasucks are 0-1.
Good News – Fast Food
With seven locations now Along the Front Range, three more are being added. One will be four miles from me, another in Brighton where I lived for several years and one about fifteen minutes from DrJim’s abode.DrJim and SLW are outstanding examples of the California refugees we welcome.
Too much shit going on to burden you residents of other states. If you are a masochists you can read it here. MORE
As always, YMMV

Wow LSF, great post. Why would shooters bother driving a wolf carcass anywhere? Why not leave it to rot? When a wolf takes a hiker on the Colorado trail, the death will be ruled an accident, the body was later eaten by scavengers. The press will censor any survivor testimony. Interesting the article only explains at the end that the reason for secrecy was harassment of people who had shot or killed wolves. The article does not explain why releasing info would be advantageous leaving to guess that harassment is the intent. (Original posting, I mis spelled censor).
When coal is closed down, the entire rail line from Bond to Steamboat / Craig will be shutdown. Moffat and Routt counties need to position themselves to get the Front Range to cover the costs of acquiring / maintaining the route.

Major fines and legal troubles for shooting a wolf in Colorado. None in Wyoming. Sort of a 'backhoe" solution.
Another railroad twist is the UP lease of the Moffat Tunnel expires in January 2025. The tunnel is owned by Colorado and the UP is coming to an end of a 99 year lease. Things may get 'interesting'.
Shoot, shovel and shut up is the order of the day.
I went to Steamboat once. But only once, because of the difficulty in getting there.
I think all the "illegal immigrant" wolves have tracking collars on them, or are at least "chipped". I agree...this is a terrible "experiment" to try.
At this point in my life, and medical history, In-N-Out will be a special treat. I just hope it doesn't take too much business from Freddy's Frozen Custard and Steakburgers, which is my "Go To" burger place these days. Vern's Place also has great burgers, one of the best I've ever had.

Exactly.
Getting to Steamboat keeps the towing industry gainfully employed.

I'm not sure just how the tracking collars work but suspect not like Lojack. Caution would call for some foil around the neck while in transit.
The tracking collars I've read about have a GPS in them that records the animal's LAT/LON several times per hour. It stores that info, and then radios it back to the Mothership at specified times. Many different types of radio systems are used, from short range to satellites, like the Argos system.
And yes, a roll of aluminum foil works quite well to disable them.

Good information
SSS for the win with the wolves...

The pressure on the ranchers is great. Generally law abiding, they won't go quietly into the night.
I suspect there is a time-series correlation between legalized dope and broken car windows.
Not big on the sports thing either, unless I'm in England, in the pub and there's a serious match on. But wolves? I know they can get really big and there was a reason they were taken out by ranchers and farmers.
Saying that, perhaps bring them back in controlled environments, within the Beltway? OK, that'd be like a civil war, but still.

Criminals often are multi-taskers.
LSP
To ranchers and farmers, wolves are coyotes on steroids.
