On the third Sunday each month the local V.F.W. serves breakfast. Profits go to help disabled vets. Cost? $9.00. A year ago it was $7.00.
Now I’m not complaining about the price. The point being inflation hurts people who are poor and/or disabled disproportionately.
My reason for having breakfast there is simply to do something for disabled vets. Sunday breakfast at nearly any restaurant in this fair town will take a big chunk out of a $20 bill. I can afford it.
We usually have a group at the V.F.W. and enjoy the company as much as the food.
Coming up to the mid terms there is talk of social security payments going up 8.2%. Whoopy! Isn’t the real inflation rate over 20%?

The way the cost of living indexes work has been gerrymandered to the point of being completely useless. The cost of food and energy aren't factored into the bottom line. This is how it works: A group of servants of politicians asks the politician what numbers are supportable. The politicians' handlers come up with a number like 8% that is complete horse shit, but it sounds much better than 36%. And the media carries their water.
It's like the plague. If you don't want to take the vax, you're a spreader, a racist, Islamaphobic to your core, and clearly trans-phobic. Now we find out that more may have died from the vax than the plague.
There is no such thing as gravity, the whole world sucks.

Spot on. Inflation is a backdoor tax. Gravity?

Yep, we're STILL on the losing end of the stick... sigh...

We're headed for real trouble. Not IF, but WHEN.

Maybe we are dumb to try to lead a sound economic life if the collective idiots are going to put us in the dumpster with them. Nah, same reason to have morals.

I fear WHEN is nearly upon us.
What a delicious breakfast!

Army days, Germany in Winter, we would layer that in a quart canteen cup. The web gear canteen carrier would give enough insulation for the food to stay hot. Kept us going.
