Welcome Sight - UPDATED

Waking up to falling snow. The weather guessers got it right. Should help put down our wildfires.

I have a lab who hates snow, rain, and water. What, anyone expect WSF's world to be normal?

UPDATE

Still snowing and expected to snow through the night. Light snow, not heavy or wet. News reports are of the wildfires being slowed down but a lot more snow will be need to extinguish them for the winter.

Globull Warming

Just finished the fourth application today of shovel and broom to the several inches of global warming on the deck, stairs, walks, and vehicles. So far, this has been a dry winter on the plains and this moisture is needed to fill local aquifers and irrigation reservoirs.

As storms go, this is nothing for this area. Guess it is the other parts of the country getting hammered along with Alberta. Still, it validates why I keep a 4x4 on hand.

Colorado Welcome II

Still snowing. Not our biggest storm. October 1997 the snow was 51" deep on our car lot. This snow is good news for the dry land farmers who got their crops planted. Slow release moisture, insulating the ground, and killing destructive insects are all good news. Good for the aquifers. Good for the ski/tourist industry. This is a much better stimulus, courtesy of Mother Nature, than anything out of Washington, D.C.
