A Black Thing

Another car sales story with blatant racial overtones. Alert the (P)regressives.

While working an offsite sale with several dealerships involved, a coworker, Karl, called me over. Seems I was the only white boy among the four salesmen by the entrance.

Karl, a black man, had a black customer. The customer wanted to test drive a pickup.

“No problem”, said Karl. “Let me make a copy of your driver’s license”.

“Is that some kind of ‘back thing’, that you need my license?”, asked the customer. Karl looked at him, then looked at his own forearm, then back to the customer.

“Yeah, I know you are black”, said the customer. “I still think it is a black thing”.

“Hey Tank, can you come over here?” Karl called out to me. When I slithered over ( what do you expect from a car salesman) Karl said,

“This guy thinks making a copy of his drivers license is some sort of a black thing”.

“No, it is a policy”, I said to the customer. “However, if you want to make it a black thing, let us do a credit app first”.

The customer looks around and sees all the black salesmen cracking up.
Give him credit.

“Am I being silly”, he asked? When I answered affirmatively, he produced his license, Karl made a copy, and they went off on the test drive.

Had to take a few minutes teasing from the black salesmen. As I recall one comment was,

“Man, you put the R into redneck”.

Kind of a point here. In those days a lot of teasing went on. It helped make a bond, us against the world. Today’s politically correct climate doesn’t allow people of different colors and backgrounds to get to know one another. Our country is poorer because of political correctness.

Nag, Nag, Bitch, Bitch

Seldom watch television but caught a news broadcast about e-cigarettes at an awards show, and politicians getting face time on air by being shocked, appalled, and determined to “do something”. From MSNBC.

A group of Democratic senators are asking NBC Universal and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association to avoid the “glamorization” of smoking e-cigarettes in future broadcasts of the Golden Globes.

In a letter from Senators Dick Durbin, Richard Blumenthal, Sherrod Brown, and Ed Markey on Thursday, the senators wrote, “Unfortunately, this year, many young viewers saw notable displays of e-cigarette use through the awards show… We are troubled that these images glamorize smoking and serve as celebrity endorsements that could encourage young fans to begin smoking.”

Note the key words, “Democratic Senators”. The same asshats that are working to dismantle the 2nd Amendment, and otherwise run our lives. Strictly for our own benefit, of course, as we are too dumb to take care of ourselves. Isn’t it nice they care so much for us?

I smoked a carton a week for better than twenty years. Unfiltered Camels and Pall Malls. Quit cold turkey in 1984. If you choose to smoke, that is no business of mine. I prefer not to be around cigarette smoke indoors, and don’t like to see butts scattered around, but don’t see it as my place to tell others what they should do.

What is worse? These arrogant assholes who assume they hold the moral high ground or the lame stream media that gives them a podium?

Navy Yard Shootings

Hell yes, I’ll ask the question. Did political correctness play a part in the Navy Yard shootings?

From MSNBC:

One day after the rampage, authorities were trying to piece together the details of his security clearance. They were also looking for a motive and putting together a profile. XXXX, 34, appears to have had a history of psychological problems and was deteriorating, and military officials said he had a disciplinary record that included insubordination and disorderly conduct.

Navy Secretary Ray Mabus plans to order two reviews to examine security procedures at all Navy and Marine Corps installations, a senior defense official told NBC News.

The first will be a “quick look” at physical security requirements of bases, the official said. The second will be a deeper look at both the physical and personal security requirement.
The personal requirements include whether someone is likely to protect classified information and adhere to standard security procedures. The physical review is a deeper look at physical security requirements on a base: swipe access, perimeter security, patrols, etc.

According to NBC News sources, Alexis had been treated multiple times for psychological issues, including sleep deprivation, anger and paranoia. Most recently they said he had been treated at a VA Hospital in New England.

I will not use this asswipes name, hence the XXXX.

Was someone, or were several someones, afraid to take action ala the Ft. Hood asswipe?
