Yes, I am a bigot
Currently going through the hassle of fighting unauthorized charges to my credit cards from places where I’ve cancelled my account. Some have been going on for two years. All have one thing in common; the speakers have Indian, like Southeast Asia, accents. Going forward, I will no longer do business with Indians. They join Iranian car dealers and Russian mechanics on my list.
Don’t count on NGOs to fund your cushy gigs, Trump is kneecapping them.
Emperor Polis has no clothes
President Donald Trump posted on Wednesday that two Democratic governors will not be invited to a bipartisan meeting and dinner next week. Gov. Jared Polis is one of them.“The
invitations were sent to ALL Governors, other than two, who I feel are not
worthy of being there,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, referring to Polis and
Governor Wes Moore of Maryland.
The way sales are negotiated piss off many people. Oh, well.
You get an offer on paper from your manager, the infamous 4 square (https://www.youtube.com/shorts/MrD9CAG7vl0), and present it to the buyer.
I worked in a store where the desk man’s office was on the 2nd floor. I was working a deal just under his office and he could hear everything being said.
My customer and her “second baseman” were twenty something Vietnamese. Our initial offer was met with, “You price is too high”.
Now comes the drop. You scratch out the price and write in a slight lower price. Each one that is rejected leads to another lower price. Then I started adding and made the price higher.
“No, no, you go wrong way!”
Do it two more times. Suddenly, she grabs the pen and writes down a figure. Now comes the three step.
“You want to buy this car for that price?”, said in incredulous tone.
Giggles
“When I bring this offer to my boss he will probably fire me”
Giggles
“Okay, I will take him the offer but his office is right up there. Stay alert; he may throw me over the railing”.
More giggles
At the desk Dan is laughing. Two visiting wholesalers there are also laughing. He then chews me out loud enough for the customer to hear down below.

note : minutes 48 - :52. He went out with the cash in hand.
About car sales. I was usually tops in monthly sales. That wasn’t my goal. My goal was to be tops in gross profit. People would ask me my “secret”. “No, if I tell you it won’t be a secret”. What made me successful were two things.
1. Attitude. People come to a car lot to buy a car. Let them!
2. I can make almost anyone like me for 45 minutes.
As always, YMMV

I am not a bigot.
I am discriminate.
And I observe patterns.
I make decisions to not put myself at risk when dealing with certain groups.
I guess I'm a bigot.
Can't disagree.
I guess I'm a bigot too, because I refuse to be a victim of certain groups.
I used to know a guy worked for a big dealership in Tulsa that had the sales offices bugged so the salesman could listen to the customers talk while he was allegedly discussing their offer with the sales manager. One day he was trying to sell a car to a woman who was accompanied by another woman, and they were down to the last few bucks. While listening to the conversation over the hidden bug, he figured out these two were in a lesbian relationship. So, he wandered back in and said he was very sorry, but his manager refused to go any lower but suggested that maybe she could consider the difference in price as an anniversary present to her friend.
It worked; she bought the car and they went away happy.
Bugging a room can bring serious criminal charges. None of the many dealerships I worked at did it. One time when our manager was going through a 30 day spin dry, Arthur Floyd Kinsman, the working man's friend, filled in. Art was a Korea Marine and had been a Green Bay Packer guard. I was working a deal with a guy with poor credit. Art gave me the 2nd pencil and said, "You go up there and tell that banko fag we are the only people who can get him financed and that is the fucking payment!" When I enter the office the customer said, "I heard! Where do I sign".
Looking back, the time period of the bugging would have been at least 50-years ago, probably a good deal longer. I met the guy about 1974 or 75, after I got out of the army and he'd been selling cars for a long time by then, long enough he had a son my age. In fairness, he did start the story by saying "you can't do this anymore BUT" and then told it. Also keeping in mind, we are talking TULSA car dealers here. I had thought to mention those circumstances but figured the story would end up being plenty long enough as is, and it was.
I refuse to be a 'victim', so I guess I'm a bigot too. Yeah, y'all played games with the customers, all's fair in love and war, and that sure as hell wasn't love. Some of us played the 'game' a different way.
I never lied to sell a car and didn't tolerate it as a manager. By omission, lied a million times without remorse. The customers? I often felt like saying, "let's hear your opening prevarication".
Enter as long a comment as you want. In today's digital world, I imagine everything is being recorded.
WSF, never said 'you' did. There are plenty out there who will. I'm the first to admit I was lucky in that I dealt with dealership owners that my family knew personally.
I tend to be long-winded, excessively so from time to time in my opinion, and try to not abuse the privileges of the house.
That wasn't directed to you, just a general comment. There are many decently run dealerships. One I recommend is Kia of Cheyenne.
