Don't Californicate Colorado

First bring your own bag. Now this. My personal choice is free range eggs, repeat personal. In part due to avian flu, egg stocks are low and prices high. Will we see $4 Egg McMuffins?

Supply and Demand

Oil companies huge profits? Start wars disrupting the global economy, block major producers from selling their oil, and temporary windfall profits come the way of those producers who can sell. Big surprise!

Temporary, because billions of dollars are tied up in idling equipment.

Weld County, CO is the third largest oil producing county in the USA. Recent reports put the county in a nearly 4% decline in GDP.

Talking thru you ass because your mouth knows better, ie, the Xiden Abdomination

From various sources, mainly PJ Media

Amos Hochstein, President Biden’s international energy envoy and chief energy advisor, is railing against Wall Street and shale oil companies for not ignoring the president’s promise to destroy them and going ahead to drill, drill, drill, anyway.

Financial Times:

The Biden adviser’s comments will spark a reaction in the US shale sector, which has complained about mixed signals from a White House that has called for more fossil fuel output while also talking of cutting demand and speeding up a shift away from oil and gas.

But Hochstein denied any contradiction, saying the US could “do two things at the very same time, ensuring we have enough [oil] supply for a strong global economy while accelerating the energy transition.”

Killing Your Fan Base

At the start of the NFL season you couldn’t find a seat in our building’s lobby. At least the Donkeys scored some touchdowns, the first since Thanksgiving.

I do feel sorry for the Bronco fans.

While no longer much interested in the NFL, I did have Seahawk season tickets for a few years after they joined the league. They managed to lose today but their epic Russell Wilson deal with the Broncos is the stuff of minor legends. I’ve never met John Elway, but his reputation in the car business is dismal. Common comment? “He’s never picked up a check”.

Division II College Football

The Colorado School of Mines qualified for the Division II National Championship. How many years has it been since any Colorado team had a shot at a national championship?

Amtrak

Every year I buy my oldest son, living in Seattle, an Amtrak ticket to Portland and back. He spends Christmas there with several relatives. Every year I curse and yell as I try to negotiate their website! It is a, “tradition”!

Good News

My rancher friends in Northwest Colorado report they anticipate at least a three wire winter. Along with heavy snowfall in Southwest Colorado, some help for both the Colorado and Rio Grande Rivers may happen next summer.

Whiskey is for Drinking, Water is for Fighting

Two major water impoundments may, or may not, begin after a twenty year battle.

https://www.northernwater.org/Home/NewsArticle/87fc0828-4587-41de-beb9-d051e92a3cd1

Nagging question? The need is predicated on the area population doubling by 2050. One half of the water is for agriculture and one half if for drinking water. If the population doubles, how much good agriculture land will be left?

Always in the back of my mind is my maternal grandparents first farm is now at the bottom of Horsetooth Reservoir, and they most certainly didn’t prosper financially when they lost it to “progress”.

Banner

His current popularity is suffering due to a prolong period of flatulence. I’ve taken to giving him a Gas X pill with his daily feed which seems to help.

As always, YMMV.

You always blame gas on the dog...

There is a La Nina condition over the South Pacific which might throw a monkey wrench in the snowfall levels. The forecast for the Mogollon Rim is 6-8" tomorrow, but a week of snow forecast for Christmas week has been downgraded to no snow.

This weeks predicted snow is from the usual southward drop of the jet stream. Most of this past week saw a lot of standing alto cumulus downwind from the Front Range.

We're forecast for up to 4" of snow Monday night through Tuesday here in the foothills. So far, they've been pretty accurate in the accumulations this year, but that can change withing hours.

Try giving Banner a tablespoon of plain old yogurt. It seems to help Pebbles.

I'll have to get some yogurt. Ordered some stuff of Amazon that has good reviews. He doesn't seem to be in any discomfort but I will most likely call his vet.

Hope the storm blows through as I need to go to Scottsbluff Friday.

Was Joe Biden’s sending back a Jailed Russian Arms Dealer to the Kremlin in exchange for pothead, America-hating WNBA player Brittney Griner, a “Good Deal”? Was releasing Brittney Griner, an American Hater a Good one? Let’s recap the entire deal and see if I can make it clearer.

This week, Joe Biden freed the imprisoned “Merchant of Death” Viktor Bout, in exchange foe the Most Notorious Arms Dealer in Know History. In exchange for Brittney Griner,a professional Basketball player but left an American Marine hero Paul Whelan in a brutal Russian jail, where he was thrown after being railroaded on a fake “espionage” charge in 2018, serving a 16-year sentence.
Paul Whelan has been detained in a Russia Prison since 2018 on espionage charges. Both Whelan and the U.S. have complely denied the charges. Many Americans are furious about this trade saying that Biden chose poorly doing an exchange for America hating Basketball player, while leaving an American Marine behind. ...
Griner who said very cruel things about America in the past including that our National Anthem should be Banned from all sporting events, was busted for bringing Vape pens with Hashish Oil into Russia for a tournament, despite the country’s reputation for having one of the harshest Drug laws on Earth.
Let's be blunt about this thing, and tell it as it is! Brittney Griner is nothing but a Pawn and she was there for one reason only. To be used for exchange, they never really wanted her for any other reason Now Russia knows that they can get anyone released from the U.S.
I believe nations should do their best to defend their citizens and bring them home, but, there is a major difference between her and so many other unfortunate citizens who are sitting in foreign prisons for even less. She isn't going to do nine years even if America didn't make this deal
Making more sense about the disastrous exchange than American Democrat-lapdog media ever could, the footage is really nothing but a ploy by Russia, and nothing else. They showed the world that they could make Biden look like a Fool, and that did a great job doing it.
It isn't just Russia that views Joe Biden as a fool, it’s much worse than that ,it is the entire world. This last Greiner / Viktor Bout fiasco is bad enough but now we learn that the Biden also gave the UAE a free pass on several other un announced so called “Deals” . When the enemy’s media speaks more of the truth than our own President, you know we are in Deep Trouble.
It was a very bad decision to release Griner because she was “Thought Of “ a hero of the Left. The Russians got it right. There is a growing level of hate in this country for Biden and releasing that anti-American filth in exchange for a Killer was a Disastrous deal. She hates America. She despises the National Anthem. She did not deserve to be part of that exchange.
The only thing that I can say is that I blame the American voters for putting a laughingstock like Dementia Joe in office. Our enemies are mocking us because of it....we have become the laughing stock of the world....And our Allies are very concerned .They played Joe Biden, 's Putin used him and got his man (the biggest arms dealer to the Terrorists on earth) out.

Interesting news on both the oil/shale and the water fronts... The question is, will either win out? Just because they 'say' drill, doesn't mean that the 'mean' that. Re the water plan, I'm betting the econazis are ramping up to fight it.

And agree, yogurt works for dogs AND people... just sayin... :-)

Bought some gas pills for dogs. So far today he hasn't stunk the place up.

Another criminal in the Biden administration allowed to LEAVE instead of being fired ... sounds like how things work inside the FBI.
This Moronic appointee is already facing charges of stealing luggage at an airport, and now. (He, or She) faces more charges for stealing luggage at another airport.

Still, this was not enough for the Biden administration to fire IT.was allowed to leave on its own.
Apparently he’s/she’s a pervert who gets off on stealing women's luggage and then wearing their clothes
I'm just curious - what does it take to be fired from the Biden administration?

Seems like the only thing that may do it would be to vote Republican

Ah, the old "no bags" trick. They tried it in Dallas but soon gave the virtue signalling buffoonery up. Still, less plastic bags is probably good and I wish we could all live in towns with butchers, bakers, fishmongers, green grocers and all of that. Sad that you have to be rich now to get what used to be commonplace.

But yes, get those eggs from your friends' chicken operations. More tasty and cheap, as in free.
