Western Fires

Lots of smoke drifting into Wyoming, Nebraska and Colorado. This was taken early this morning North of Wheatland, WY on Hwy 26 just East of Interstate 25. Not my best effort. My excuse, a small handheld point and shoot at extreme zoom and a low light situation. Yes, I know, it is a poor workman that blames his tools. Didn't quite capture the Sun's Japanese Flag Red that I saw with my eyes.

We get the point though... Fires DO put a lot of particulate in the air and that can make for some interesting sunrises and sunsets.

We'll see what tomorrow brings.

Things are pretty bad in some spots out there aren't they?

Pretty nice picture, all things considered.

Mainly the Pacific NW. We have had some brush and prairie fires but nothing major like other years.

Nor the best kind of environment for those with breathing difficulties. Just ride with your window up and the air going. No need to add anything to the list of 'old folk maladies."

I pickup specimens at hospitals. They are seeing a large increase of patients with breathing problems and allergies. I need to have my rear windows open about an inch as I carry several pounds of dry ice.
