Every group of friends and family should have a truck. I keep up a 20 year old Ford Ranger for my group. Even small trucks like ours are useful.

Sometimes I miss my 87 Ranger. I bought it at our city's auction. It was a retired fire truck and the AC still worked. Paid 1300 dollars for it and drove it for over five years and only did lube and oil services the whole time.
A youngster saw it sitting in the driveway one day and rand the doorbell. Offered me 700 dollars for it and I took it. We're down to just the one car now.......have been for the past 5 years or so, now.
I once sold my truck and 2 weeks later had to borrow a truck. Lesson learned is can't do without a truck. Current ride is my 1989 Toyota extended cab SR5. Bought it brand new in Nov 1988. 195k miles on it now.
We are down to two vehicles so I am in the market for a car or station wagon. Maybe I'll get lucky and find a nice Tempo!
Like the older Toyotas, especially with the 22R. Newer ones not so much. Seems silly to pull an intake manifold to get to a starter.
I miss my truck. They are a necessity in the west. I believe they are necessary for my lifestyle. Sigh.
A good alternative is a minivan with the seats removed.
