My sister
straightens out my thinking this morning as I was flapping my gums about the
results of the elections.
I’ve been
thinking along the lines that resistance and revolution are part of out
national DNA; that when something unpopular is shoved down the people’s throat,
the people fight back.
Not so, said
my sister. We live in a system of checks and balances. When the government and
elected officials ignore the checks and balances, the voters step up and
restore the checks and balances.
Could she be
correct?
Hear in
Colorado, Senator Uterus went down to defeat even with his wardrobe of cowboy
boots, Wranglers, and big belt buckle.
Looks like Gov. Wishywashy will be reelected, but the close vote won’t give him a mandate. Look for more flip flopping.
Last year
the Democrat controlled Senate got onerous firearms laws passed. Next session, control
goes to the Republicans.
Seems there
is plenty of humble pie to go around today.

It will be interesting to see if some good things come of the new Congress and not some idiotic laws just to piss off Democrats. I NEED SMART LEGISLATURE. Otherwise, I am going to lose faith that we can recover and become a great nation again instead of some dysfunction junction. Your governor sucks ballz.
Ouch! Not "my" governor. I never voted for him; just have the misfortune to live in the same state. Will never step into his bar. Agree with your assessment.
Yep, we elected them to make changes. Let's see if they step up and actually DO it!!!
Think Murphy's Law has is right. Must get new GOP leaders. The current RINOs won't hack it.
He still sucks ballz. :)
Yepper, and more befuddled than a Wyoming driver in a roundabout.
An old friend is in mourning and thinks the election means that women will no longer have a right to choose. Of course she's a lunatic in many ways, and you can't show her anything 'as is'. She has to look at everything through liberal glasses. So of course the glasses are pre-printed with what she wants to see and she can't see anything else.
If she lived in this state, I doubt we'd be able to talk face to face because I've gotten to the point where I refuse to spend time with stupid people.
Is that bad?
She thinks I am cynical. And wrong. Wrong, wrong wrong.
I sent her a link to this quiz.

Big meany! Making her uncomfortable, tsk, tsk. One person's cynic is another's realist. In the Senate, we've changed from the Unicorns in control to the thundering RINOs.
I can tolerate the truly stupid. The willfully ignorant piss me off, and I stay far, far away from them.
