SSDD -Life

Colorado centered bloviation.

 Democrats Nefarious Schemes

The “Colorado Way” is being touted as a way to win back the country for the Democrats. Long, boring article.

MORE

What not mentioned is the “Colorado Way” isn’t what the natives want; rather, in migration. In 1998, the population was about four million. Politically, the state was “Red” with shades of purple. In 2024 the population was about six million, and politically “Blue”.

Since 2015 migration into Colorado has declined over 50%, with the biggest impact along the Front Range, notably metro Denver.

Nationally, the “Colorado Way” depends on large in migration, i.e. Biden open borders, IMO.

Denver is rapidly becoming a basket case under successive  Democrat mayors and city council.

MORE

The Colorado GOP hasn’t helped; they can fuck up a cup of coffee. Infighting, the country club set vs rural, etc.

I’ve supported Weld County, WY. Not that Wyoming wants us. Wyoming, with a population of fewer than 600,000 absorbing Weld County’s population of 300,000, makes about as much sense, to them, as annexing Haiti.

Don’t care – you may

Buying an EV in Colorado. Soon to be market driven, IMO. Sorry, environazis.

MORE

Too bad there is no help buying an OBS Ford 250 4x4 7.3 Powerstroke. Supercab, with an 8’ bed and no rear fender well rust.

(P)regressive Values –Corrections

The Colorado prison system, along with roads, is evidentially a nuisance for the ultra liberals in Colorado. Legal executions haven’t been carried out for years, but at least twelve inmates have died riding in rickety, poorly maintained, transports. Why do I care? I’ve sold many cars to correctional officers over the years and heard firsthand how needlessly dangerous their jobs have become.

Currently, the game plan is to stick it to the county sheriffs. They leave recently convicted prisoners in the county jails. While in Weld County the daily cost to feed and house an inmate is about $118, the state reimburses the county $71. The county jails only house the inmates. They have no rehabilitation or mental health programs for the inmates stuck in limbo.

The Trump administration’s fiscal policies will likely force a Legislative Special Session to deal with the budget short fall. Got to save all those woke programs, no? Solve real problems? Hah hah.

Epstein Fatigue

Personally, I’m tired of the prominence of this story. Important? Yes. Critical? No.

This involves wealthy people. While they may have been stupid with a dash of assumed privilege, to get themselves in a vulnerable position, they have, by now, lawyered up. The DOJ may look at the resources needed to go after the assholes and have concluded the low hanging fruit, like mortgage fraud, may be a better investment.

Other considerations may be in play. The island was not in the USA, but in a USA Territory. Not being a lawyer, I don’t know how that might play in prosecutions. The minors involved, while not of legal age of consent, may have been willing participants.

Likely there is a lot of resistance within the entrenched DOJ employees to any and all Trump efforts that needs to be dealt with first.

Lastly, the evidence may have lead to much deeper crimes, sedition, foreign involvement, etc. that will require a lot of time to sort out.

Or, just another government cover up.

Yes, a bit grumpy today. Stumbled and went down face first a few days ago. No visible damage but a lot of aches and pains. The body is well past usable service life and healing is slow.

 As always, YMMV

Not my circus, but I pay to feed the monkeys

Wolves

Show my shocked face! The wolf debacle has doubled in cost.

MORE

Should you care to read 23 pages, here is the State’s official report.

MORE

Ranchers are going their own way seeking solutions. The State keeps gas lighting them.

MORE

I doubt any of the environazi wolf fans had the courage to attend this meeting. Just state employees who had no choice.

Blue State Politics

Cronyism is so common in Colorado Politics the public now shrugs.

Consider the case of profiting off non-profits.

MORE

Perhaps some of these non-profits actually do some good. Certainly, some employees do very well for themselves. All are reliable Democrat voters.

Southern Preposterous Lie Center echo chamber

Just what is a hate group? Just about any conservative group according to these self important buffoons.

MORE

Montgomery, AL is their home. A few years ago, as a pre-production test driver, I spent some time there. Hyundia builds cars there and Kia at West Point, GA not far away. Whenever I mentioned this organization to locals, the usual response was an eyeroll.

Trust Fund Snot’s Drama

Nothing serious; just makes me smile an evil smile.

Update: After five days on the run, the bull has been captured.

True Believer

My neighbor across the hall is Democrat. I avoid any political discussion. He is fanatical in his beliefs. Trump is the devil, and our country is in deep trouble. Nothing original, just well learned talking points.

Another resident in the building is a Messianic Rabbi. He and his wife are extremely conservative in their political beliefs.

The big difference is the Rabbi can disagree without being disagreeable.

Trump Haters Never Stop

Video going around blaming him for the Texas flood loss of life. The area meteorology office had one person responsible for alerting local authorities. Said person took early retirement and wasn’t replaced. Hah, we got you, Bad Man Orange! Never mind all the deaths. Scum!

That excuses the local NOAA managers who didn’t reshuffle the deck and assign someone to that function. “Oh, the position was open”. Bullshit bureaucracy at it’s worse.

 USPS

They are losing billions each year. A small example of why.

Using their own tracking system.

6/28 placed an order with a company in Ft Lupton – 38 miles away

7/2 Arrived in Greeley – not delivered

7/3 Sent to the Denver Distribution Center – 167 miles

  Firearm Confiscation

A daily read for me is William Kirk’s Washington Gun Law. I find he presents complex issue with a level of clarity this lay person can understand.

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=usX61R1fh2c

He often points out, while Trump 2.0 is pro 2nd Amendment, the future may bring some version of Lightbringer 4.0. What works for us today, can work against us in the future, aka, be careful what you wish for.

Older and Meaner

De-escalation Tactics

A recent encounter with a neighbor while delivering a mortgage company letter got ugly. Seems the neighbor is a retired policeman and has taken upon himself to be a neighborhood watchman.

He confronted me, demanding to know my business, and I politely told him to fuck off. Upon reflection, I didn’t use good de-escalation tactics. Upon further reflection came the realization I don’t give a fuck. He was still in the street making threats as I drove off.

Yeah bitch, lay hands on an “at risk senior”. Felony in Colorado.

Frugal

Indifferent to what people in general think of him is my second son. Who else drives a 2001 Ford Focus with 200,000 miles on the odometer?  He would rather spend $1,500 to $2,000 a year on repairs and tires than work overtime and Saturday to make the payment on a new car, like many of his contemporaries. The car gets regular oil changes. He uses a shop that is willing to work on an “old piece of shit”.

He makes his cheapskate father proud! What really makes his father prouder is his nearly a decade of sobriety.

Tools

Over the years I wonder how many “borrowed” tools I’ve replaced.

Idaho Co-ed Murders

Seems the perp now will plead guilty. Seems everyone has an opinion. Here is mine. He will be going away, forever.

Yes, we won’t have a trial circus and endless appeals for years to come. That is a bad thing?

Lastly, high praise for that small town police department doing their job so well the prosecution had a strong hand.

As always, YMMV
