The Dog

Banner Rules

With all that is going on surrounding Gaza and the murderous scum (there and around the world) nothing else seem to push my umbrage button at the moment.

Banner isn’t spoiled; simply well cared for. He rules the backseat and must have the passenger window down enough, summer and winter, to sniff the passing air. Yesterday, sitting in the left turn lane waiting for a green light, two women in the next lane were flirting with him.

He never jumps on anyone, or even bumps into them. That is good, considering the several elderly neighbors in walkers and wheelchairs. What he does, with people he likes, is gallop at full speed towards them then hit the brakes, stops, sits and waits for treats. The resulting laughter and grins is heartwarming.

Banner is my litmus test now when dealing with other people. Anyone can pet him and he rarely, if ever, is aggressive. He doesn’t approach everyone. If people don’t meet his approval, my interaction with them is guarded.

Banner isn’t brave. The Long-haired Chihuahua down the hall bullies him. He hates tile floors. Even after four years of walking our lobby he resists walking. However, if he sees one of his treat grandmothers he gets braver.

Downside? He sheds which compels me to seep floors and vacuum more frequently than I might otherwise.

As I often say, I won the dog lottery when I acquired him.

What's the old saying?...."I'm suspicious of people who say they don't like dogs, but I trust my dog when they don't like a person".

Pebbles doesn't like tile floors, either. She just spins her paws when she tries to get moving.

Dogs just know, making them smarter than most of us.

I trust him when it comes to people. Food morsels, not so much.

You are right. A couple of residents in this building are snakes and he spotted them immediately.

He can be bribed.

They Suddenly Stop Using the Term “Insurrection” When the Pro-Palestinians Protest at the The now-debunked claim that Israel bombed a Gaza hospital.will be quickly excused and forgotten about, just like every other leftist tantrum by the Democratic Lefties at the U.S. Capitol Yet we have been told for over two and a half years that the right-wing protest at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, was one of the darkest events in American history.
Why is that? Why is the media so quick to defend pro-Palestinian protesters with every embarrassing double standard:
It seems that only Republicans are capable of an “insurrection.”
When over 300 anti-Israel, Pro-Palestinian demonstrators Marching, and waving Iranian, and Palestinian Flags after Mobbing the Congress building to demand a cease-fire between Israel and Gaza. They chanted, Death to Israel, Death to America as they tore down the American Flag, and blew horns, fought with the police officers, and generally made fools of themselves. But No, the pro-Palestinian Protest on Capitol Hill Was Not an ‘Insurrection’”

He has his bratty moments. This morning he took advantage of me being distracted to help himself to some treat on a table. He is not allowed to take anything off any table!

Our community is blessed with a grief center. A neighbor lost her daughter two years ago and her granddaughter is having difficulty dealing with the loss of her mother. Her father has finally relented and allowed his daughter to get counseling. Susie and I were discussing the situation and Banner used the distraction to raid another neighbor's treat table. Bad dog!

I might add Susie used the grief center after her daughter's passing as did I with my son's death.
