There are fools,
damn fools, and tourists, but I repeat myself (to paraphrase Mark Twain).
Roam around the Internet and you can find a story after story of people not respecting wildlife, or even domestic farm animals.
One incident
that sticks in the memory was on NM Hwy 64 headed East out of Cimarron towards
I 25. A minivan was pulled over with the tailgate up next to a fence with bison
on the other side.
They became
highly offended when I tapped on the sign and said, “Just how dumb a shit are
you, dumb shit”? I just drove on. What else?
County fairs
and rodeos are another place to see the fools. I believe nearly every state has
some variation of an equine law.
You can find
some variation of these signs everywhere.
Doesn’t deter the fools.
I won’t even
get started on people stopping at any place, like blind curves, for a photo
opportunity.
Yes, I'm aware of the irony of this rant compared to my blog title.

One winter, I recall seeing tourists stopped in Red Mountain Pass above Ouray. They were parked next to the sign that said NO PARKING AVALANCHE DANGER.
Taking pictures. Standing next to that sign.
We kept driving, hoping the vibrations and noise they were making didn't kill us.
Stupid fuckers.
Right up there with parking in front of a runaway truck ramp.
Personally, I won't stop anywhere on Red Mountain Pass unless I've no choice.
They ARE out there every day... And sue like hell when something happens... sigh
But, but, but, it wasn't their fault! Somebody needs to pay.
We have people feeding the bears here in Florida. They are clueless and then outraged because somebody gets mauled that doesn't have food to offer the bears! Then the animal is destroyed for merely being a bear.
Probably the same people who try to pet an alligator.
Yeah, that somebody being US... sigh
They are everywhere.
So true, and, their children learn from their example.
It's dangerous to try to convice a dumbass that he's a dumbass when he already knows he's a dumbass.
You are, of course, correct. One man I worked with said I have the fitness of a D-9 at full throttle.
