New Invasion
India's newest export to the USA, the Mahindra Truck. Spotted this today undergoing high altitude emissions testing (not by my employer). Diesel powered. UGLY!!!! Priced right, good warranty, will be a good seller.
Mahindra got their start after WWII reworking military surplus vehicles. They became a licensee for Willys and made Jeeps. For may years they have exported their line of small agricultural tractors to the USA.
Don't sneer! Remember the Suzuki Somersault, er, Samurai?
Sorry for the picture quality. Cell Phone snap at 6:15 a.m.

i wonder how hard it is to get parts for it. This matters when your broke down in wyoming in some little town with a autozone and you need a starter. is it 4x4 or not? It looks cheap. It looks perfect for the guy that hauls some shovels from the home depot to his house. I bet it would not last 3 min on a farm. The window is super flat like a jeep wrangler, what does that mean? Bad for gas on the highway. In colorado i bet that front window would be cracked in half within a few weeks on i-25. I can understand cheap, dont get me wrong. But i would rather have a 1995 to 2005 chevy, ford, or dodge pickup with 200,000 miles on it used then buy one of these brand new. But that is just my thoughts. Thanks for sharing. that a pretty good pic for your phone.
They will be available in 4x4. I think they will be very durable and cheap to operate. UPS can get a part to Wamsutter, WY in one to two days from nearly any warehouse in the country.
Right now, your only choice in a small truck built to big truck standards is a Ranger or Tacoma. The rest are car based.
These things will sell well in rural areas. If they are suitable for urban roads, look out!
Delivery vehicles and one man contractor use are natural markets.
Given favorable pricing, financing, and insurance costs, I can roadshow 50 a month just in Colorado.
Don't worry - the aftermarket crowd will pretty it up.
