Blasted Squirrels
Wish I could have nice fresh tomatoes from MY plants. The squirrels beat me to them. They are particular, too. Only take the very ripest ones. Aargh!

GO buy a really big rat trap. Last year they bite through my x mas lights!
I had a cat that would pick ripe tomatoes off the vine and eat them. The vet said she was "thirsty". ?? She had water, but I moved a dish out beside the garden and she drank the water there and left the tomatoes alone.
Might be worth a shot to put a pan of water out until you can get the really big rat traps. ;)

Thanks for the tip. I will try the water. Don't want to trap them. The neighborhood has too many; would be a full time job.
At least you would be gainfully employed.
Sisty
"Gainfully" employed? Who would be paying me? Usefully employed is more accurate.
