The Stupid, it Burns

The Mountain Men said it best, “Don’t go bothering something that ain’t bothering you”.

Just one of the many reasons I don’t go there.

In related stupid tourist news, someone emptied their RV holding tanks into the underground diesel tank at the Maverick in Montrose, CO. A friend, retired petroleum truck driver, says the cost to fix the problem could be in the six figures.

Californicating Colorado

The firewall against the complete Californication of Colorado is the TABOR Amendment.  Every year the (P)regressives find new ways to try breaching  it.

El Nino

The sky is falling, brought to you by the same Climate Change alarmists that are consistently wrong. Yes, even an analog clock is correct, etc.

Don Day offers are more realistic report.

This area needs moisture, no denying that. The annual Monsoon Season may, or may not, help. Depending on the winds aloft, moisture from the Gulf comes into the area. The winds can stall against the Rockies and we get rain. Sometimes, we get huge amounts of rain. The foothills have numerous slot canyons that can quickly become death traps.

Bastards Never Quit - Climate

“Sea level rise is one of the most visible consequences of human-driven climate change”.

Another climate change article; is the climate changing? Of course, the climate is always changing. Human driven?  Not proven, just believed by those who want it to be proven. This article is flawed from the beginning.

These studies are useful for future planning but the premises that changing human behaviors can forestall climate change is a fantasy.

Changing human behaviors can impact local environments; not proven on a global scale, IMO.

All models used for forecasts suffer a flaw, GIGO. (Garbage in, garbage out). There is always lurking the human desire to enter data to influence a desired outcome. Anyone who has sat through a long department heads meeting has seen this play out on a micro scale.

Car Story

A favorite cartoon.

As always, YMMV

LOL, love the gun rack! I had one of those back in the day! And they are 'determined' to get TABOR, they can't stand losing money back to the people. The cartoon is funny, and I'm surprised somebody hasn't tried that for real!

The (P)regressives think all that tax money is there to spend by them for their programs. I was saddened when Bud Grace closed his cartoon strip in 2018.

Not often, but I would take a vehicle to someones home or business if asked.

Good stuff, thank you. Especially that NYC pic, I now hope fake climate change is real.

I used to be a big fan of the Piranha Club until it folded. My favorite was the one when the uncle was explaining to his nephew how to get four wearings out of a pair of drawers before laundering them, and ended with the remark that, "you learn things in the Army you can use your whole life."

The man had a sense for the absurd. He decided that 30 years was long enough. It was a daily read for me.

Should we blog? Yes, of course.

Rhetorical question, to be sure. It is hard to come up with clickbait headlines.
