My mother's people settled in North Park (Walden) and down the Platte. Her father found relief from Rheumatoid Arthritis in the hot springs there. Went from an invalid to leading a long life.<br /><br />My father's people drifted into the Browns Park area (NW corner of Colorado) after working on the UP rail construction (one half) and the other half homesteaded in 1913. Too many kids for the homestead in Wheatridge just West of Denver. In the summer, they hauled freight over the passes in wagons. Tough people. The sod house in Wheatridge has been plastered and preserved.
