Going Green

A poll published in our local rag.

POLL
Would you ever consider buying an electric vehicle?
·         Only when Gov. Polis pays for mine. (32%, 178 Votes)
·         No. I like a combustion engine. (26%, 144 Votes)
·         Maybe when the technology gets better. (25%, 142 Votes)
·         Yes. They're great. (17%, 98 Votes)

In other news, I will be tied up for the next two days moving my worldly possessions.

  1. I understand the electric cars and hybrids don't have enough power to pull a greasy string out of a duck's ass. I'll stick with my gas guzzling F150 until I am forced by the government to give it up.

  2. I have nothing against electric cars. If people want to build and buy them, it's a free country. I do NOT approve of subsidies, and they should have to pay to responsibly deal with their polluting batteries when they toss them.

Put over 100,000 miles on a company Toyota Prius. Surprisingly peppy. Still disliked the car.

  6. I like the old school internal combustion gasoline engines. No, I don't like electric cars, diesel cars or rotary engine cars.

Give me pistons, cam shafts, gas and valves. I guess that rules out two stroke cars, too. Not that there are any out there any more. Now, two stroke motorcycles, that's a different story.

    But electric? Uh uh.

  8. I would consider electric if the range was better. I make many 300-400 mile trips.

Years in the car biz made me appreciate all vehicles.
