Spammers
If large numbers of spam comments are the sign of a popular blog, mine is star material. Since the blog only gets about 3,000 hits a month, must be some other factor involved. Automated search and send programs?
Oh well, that is why gmail has a trash can.
There are a lot of search engines that spider your blog. Mine too.

DeleteMy security thing catches quiet a few of the spam, and others I just list as spam and delete the whole spam folder. I just wish I was smart and programming savvy enough to be able to send the spam back to the sender.

DeleteI get spam mostly on older posts. I set blogger up to require approval on comments made to posts older than 7 days.
ReplyDeleteOut of the hundreds of comments on old posts, 3 or 4 were valid, and the rest were SPAM....
Seems like my experience.
