Bitching and Moaning

An election brings out different reactions from people. Some of us are engaged, feel the need to participate, and believe voting is a responsibility that shouldn’t be ignored.

Then there is a sizable number that find elections distasteful, hate the various ways candidates try to get their message across, and are irritated by the whole process. Others just don’t care.

I lump them in with the type of people who will drive around a school bus loading or unloading children. Their little world is the universe and they are the center of that universe.

YMMV

Write me down as fucking furious about the entire process. The shitbag candidates, the nasty tactics they use and the screaming rhetoric that causes rifts in friendships and in families.

But I vote.
I vote for the same reason that some people go to church.
Just in case.

If you and I didn't vote, Brudder, several members of our dearly departed family would come back and haunt us in ways that wouldn't be pleasant. At least, we preserved our God-given, inalienable right to bitch.

I didn't vote until I was about 35, ever. Did not care. Wasn't making enough money to get taxed through the wazoo, never saw the issue as a big deal.

Once I started raking in the big money, and started getting hammered by taxes, I got tetched by the spirit, and haven't missed a vote since.

Growing up in a politically active family my sister and I were indoctrinated early and often. As she says, if we missed voting their spirits would kick our asses.

The incumbents seem to be doing well, but that's the way it tends to roll. Fox called the US Senate for continued Republican control and the larger issue is the number of seats that the donkeys will pick up in the House.

Things have been going well for the past two years. A rising tide floats all boats. The corrupt, elite media is a foil for that success. How stupid are American voters? (don't answer that)

Been voting since I was 18, lots of 'absentee' votes in the military, so those probably never got counted, but dammit I VOTED!

The house seems to be in control, it will all depend on how much shit they can get on any GOP's in the Senate to blackmail to get something done, plus stopping Trump from vetoing.
