Latter Day Luddite Seeks Advice

While you can't beat the price, Blogger is becoming an irritant. Seems every time they decide on changes, the five or six readers of this blog have problems posting comments. Then I wader around the settings page making things worse.

I'm thinking of going to WordPress. Any advice or insight you may offer will be appreciated.

Other places?

caveat: my advice is worthless

When I set up my blog, I tweaked as necessary to dial it in and then didn't mess with the format. So it's been roughly the same for the past while. But it's not much of a problem. Wordpress has it's own quirks.

I tried a wordpress blog and hated it. It wasn't as easy for me to navigate as blogger is.

The thing I hate the most about them *now* is that if I want to comment on a blog using that platform, I have to sign out of blogger and into wordpress... so I just don't bother commenting anymore.

I made some changes and now can't reply to individual comments.

Oh I see that! Where there's usually a little linky thing to check to reply to comments, I can't do it anymore.

Here's a thought... stop making changes. :-D

They started changing it.

I managed to subscribe to comments on my blog, so that I see them in e-mail again. Made no sense for Blogger to remove that original function, but ... whatever. Now, for the last week or so, they're no longer providing stats. As some point, nearer now than it was before, the aggravation will outweigh the benefit.

Blogger is simpler, Wordpress is harder for us old farts. I actually paid somebody to move mine and set it up on Wordpress, and I 'rent' space on a server he manages, AND he fixes my screwups!!! :-)

I don't understand why the make the changes. I use Goggle exclusively except for clients who use something else. Outlook drives me bonkers. Guess I need to attend the classes at the Senior Center.

Old NCO. Not a bad idea.

No idea so I won't comment.
