Tough Kid

A boy worker in the fields near Kersey was injured when the plowhorse team he was operating broke from the plow and ran. He suffered a cut to the back of his head and had 16 stitches. He is normally in kindergarten at this time, but now is working the fields due to a shortage of labor. The boy is 5 years old.

Not that uncommon in years past. The summer I turned five was leading a team on a hay stacker lift. However, adults were nearby and giving me directions.
